Do you think Israel will be sending rockets into Vermont or something?
-
why do *you* think it? propbably because you hate Israel

I don’t keep up with Ben and Jerry’s ‘s politics, nor care much about the Israel/Palestine conflict. I used to be more pro-Israel, and I’ll never be pro radical jihadists, but these days I’m considering revising my opinion to: the U.S. needs to stay the hell out of it and stop supporting either side. They’ll never make peace with each other. I said I’m considering it. There’s still the Iran question and Israel’s importance as an ally, but I’m looking at that with more skepticism these days as I no longer trust either the warmongering Democrats nor the warmongering Republicans and what I’m beginning to regard as propaganda from both sides.
Anyhoo, since I didn’t know what the heck that Ben and Jerry’s thing was, I dug up this clarification:
https://www.benjerry.com/about-us/media-center/opt-statement
The FAQs explain everything.
My take on that is, private corporations should stay the hell out of using their marketing to further political and social agenda. Who are they hurting here? Little kids who want ice cream. Fuck that.

Mista'arvim will be paying milk curdling visits to ranches that supply B&J.

The statement "To learn who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticize" was falsely attributed to Voltaire, the French Enlightenment philosopher. However, the phrase is believed to originate from an essay by Strom first published in 1993: "All America Must Know the Terror that is Upon Us". He wrote: "To determine the true rulers of any society, all you must do is ask yourself this question: Who is it that I am not permitted to criticize?".]
I guess you're going to straw man ad-hominem call me an anti-semite to draw me into a pointless debate. So predictable. So boring. So trite.

How do you interpret: consequences "legal and otherwise" from a Head of State?

I’m asking you. You don’t have an answer?
And your response to Bob Noel is a little cowardly. You ascribe that he will call you an anti-Semite when all he asked is why YOU think the Israelis protest too much, yet you also chose not to answer his question.
We’re all still waiting for your answer.

how ironic.

Well, Bob did assume he hates Israel, which was a bit inflammatory.

If I were a HoS, I would not have addressed the corporate goals of a company doing business in my country, unless somehow they were integral to my National Security policy. I also would not have implied a threat. Considering "or otherwise" is nonspecific, the tools available to HoS include personal or financial sanctions or use of force.

Is it inflammatory if true?

Irrelevant. It’s inflammatory to assume it is when we don’t know.

Like Rush, I’ve never paid much attention to Ben & Jerry’s - other than learning of their general political views years ago. Of mild interest to me would be a quick check that they apply their principles consistently. I don’t know all their principles, but a quick search turned up this article:
https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/ben-jerrys-woke-political-activism/ (https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/ben-jerrys-woke-political-activism/)
The Argentine blogger notes the following in the Israeli paper:
According to Danielle Letenyei of Market Realist, Ben & Jerry´s sells its ice creams in more than 35 different countries. Among them are Rodrigo Duterte’s Philippines, Viktor Orban’s Hungary, and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s United Arab Emirates; neither of which is exactly a liberal democracy. David May, Richard Goldberg and Orde Kittrie of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, point to Unilever, the parent company, which maintains corporate offices in several countries that violate human rights, including China, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Venezuela, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. “It is difficult to say why Unilever shows greater concern for the sale of ice cream in West Bank settlements than it does for the exploitation of forced labor in Xinjiang,” note these researchers. It’s actually quite easy. Virtue-signaling Israel carries no cost, while criticizing China does (just ask H&M).

shrug - I don't believe that you are correct. opinions differ

Yes, but financial can be pretty severe. Israel isn't that large of a market, but if they banned all of Unilever from selling there, it would make a material mark on the revenue stream and more importantly, the stock price. As is, they lost between 5 and 8% of the stock value since the statement was made.
Channelling Machiavelli, a head of state should be willing to do whatever is best for their people. If that includes warning a large corporation not to promote genocide by supporting those who want to commit genocide, then that is what they should do.

Is Ben & Jerry’s ice cream fluoridated?

Is Ben & Jerry’s ice cream fluoridated?
?? Not that I know of.

Is Ben & Jerry’s ice cream fluoridated?
No just Communist.

Sorry - the political issue is over ice cream so I couldn’t resist an obscure reference to another case where ice cream became a rallying point.

There it is. If the government really cared about us they would put the vaccine in our drinking water.

That currently is my greatest worry. If anything has become crystal clear this last 18 months, it’s that they do not care about OUR health.

When the communist regime in washington forces those crossing our border to vaccinate and tracks down all the criminal aliens and forces them to vaccinate, only then will any argument the fucking democrat commies have any validity.
