So on a recreational forum the new phrase being bantered around is "mask deniers".
And those foaming at the mouth because the "deniers" are not doing as they are told.
"We're all gonna die!"

Blow up their minds with
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7108646/
and
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18612429
especially the part
"Surgical masks provided about twice as much protection as home made masks, the difference a bit more marked among adults. FFP2 masks provided adults with about 50 times as much protection as home made masks, and 25 times as much protection as surgical masks. "
"In a final experiment, retention of particles expelled inside the masks was studied. Here again, mask type was strongly correlated with (transformed) protection factors. Protection factors for all type of masks were considerably lower than those observed for inward protection. The home-made masks only provided marginal protection, while protection offered by a surgical mask and an FFP2 mask did not differ (figure 3)."

Yea, now we have mask shaming as well.
This is so fucked up.

Ask those complaining about "mask deniers" if they wore masks during any of the flu seasons.

I do not recognize my country anymore.
I’ve imagined war on the homeland, nuclear attack, rising seas from global warming, famine from honeybee extinction, eruption of the Yellowstone super volcano, an asteroid strike, invasions from space aliens. Never could I ever have imagined... this. Complete culture change and deliberate economic suicide over a typical upper respiratory infection with a 99.9% survival rate.

It is really unbelievable. The Progressive mentality led by the Media, Feminism (women's nanny influence on society), Education, Government, Social Media, Tech, etc has created a society where safety, security and the elimination of ALL perceived RISK is paramount. But only the risks promoted by those institutions. People still drive, have unprotected sex, work, do risky jobs, take selfies on the edge of cliffs, etc. Why are these risks acceptable?
-
United we stand, divided we fall. This whole liberal twist on Covid is just another means to divide. Once divided the easier we fall!

leave me the **** alone

Or one that says:
I don't have it
I may have had it, couldn't tell
I don't know anyone that's had it
I don't know anyone that knows anyone that's had it
Who benefits from a phony world and U.S. lock down and economic collapse?

The problem is these idiots are so hysterical they don't believe that. Like my neighbor when I mentioned we need antibody testing to see who is immune and she goes, "We don't know that if you get it then you're immune! That's not been proven!"
It's also not proven that the sun will rise tomorrow. But it's very likely.
Idiots.

I'll try and put this in terms you all might understand. If everyone is running around naked, and the guy next to you pees, you get pee on your leg. Now if you put on pants and the guy pees, most gets on your pants, though some can soak into you. If the other guy wears pants the pee all stays with him.
All this stuff is additive gents. You stay away from others, wear a mask. if you happen to be infected less stuff will get out, and hopefully it own' make the distance to the next guy. infallible? Of course not, but better than nothing. A mask might not prevent you from gettin ga disease, but it can help you to not spread it.

Nope, but neither myself nor my spouse are likely to get killed by the Flu.

based on what do you claim immunity?
and what about spreading the flu virus to others?

How do you know? Each year between 60,000 to 100,000 die from it.

Wow. Clever. I saw that meme on Facebook a few days ago. The artist must have read the same peer-reviewed scientific journal that you did.

They watch out for their own. Just like cops.

Masks are for healthcare workers who are trained in their use. A large part of the training involves what they do with their hands, specifically what they may not touch.
To follow your analogy, here is what happens. The guy next to you, after he pees in his pants, scratches his pee-pee, and then, without washing his hands, handles an item on the shelf at WalMart which you subsequently pick up.
Masks may be partially effective, but for the most part they are an emotional security blanket for the sheeple, if for no other reason almost no one uses them correctly.

The VAST majority of masks being used, and that states are advising people to use are:
1. Ineffective for Medical purposes.
2. Not used properly to do their job even if designed for pathogens.
This is total Pandemic THEATER and as you say purely EMOTIONAL security for the Sheeple, Nanny State, Bliss Ninny types. Anyone that thinks they are doing anything by wearing a mask are IGNORANT FOOLS. Uneducated, irrational and counterproductive to any real solutions.

Based on the mask people are wearing and the size of the coronavirus I would say it is more like everyone is running around with mesh pants on.

You're analogy is wrong. Pants won't even stop a fart from spreading.

Nope, but neither myself nor my spouse are likely to get killed by the Flu.
"Likely" is a rather ambiguous term. Do you mean at low risk? I think that my wife and I are at low risk to die of COVID.
Scores of thousands are killed by the flu each year. What makes you so special? Or is it just a risk you are willing to take? And do you think that EVERYONE should be tied to the same level of risk as you are willing to take?

Steingar better be careful. Inexperienced riders like him on liter sport bikes. Not that he actually rides it, mind you, but I guess that risk, IN THEORY, is OK, but not the Virus risk. I've been seeing guys riding motorcycles here with NO HELMET, yet wearing a mask! LOL!

For some reason I picture Steingar riding a Vespa instead of a sport bike, with a pocket protector and a full coverage helmet. And he still manages to "loose" it on "lose" gravel.

If the gravel wanted him to avoid it, it just should have let him know. And he’d be gone.

You don't have the stones to do the riding I've done. None of you do. You'd quiver in fear at some the things I've done on bikes. Needlessly reckless? Possibly. But nobody remembers a day spent sitting comfortably on the couch. Life is for living.

Well, I'll take it as good news. However, the CDC page referenced in the article is dated 20 April 2020. Perhaps the CDC does not maintain good configuration control of their webpages.

How about those who put on a military uniform and actually did something instead of poseurs, pussies and Karen’s.

All around her, more than a dozen nearly naked women are dancing on the stage and swinging from a brass pole as music thumps and customers shower the dancers with money. It's like any other night at this rural strip club on the Colorado-Wyoming border, with one notable exception: While the dancers are all wearing barely-there outfits, every one of them is wearing a mask.

Actually, I did a bunch last year. Full throttle riding on tiny little calletas featuring bad asphalt, potholes, kids, dogs, Tuk-tuks, and lots of other stuff. In the middle of a third wold country with few cops and even fewer medical services. At night and, well, if I say any more I'll be incriminating myself.

As a motorcyclist of 53 years experience, I will admit that I would not do something like that. It's not because I lack stones, though; it's because I have a brain.

I did something extremely dangerous and reckless just today. I went to Walmart without a mask. There are 16 active covid19 cases in this county right now! What was I thinking? I’m gonna die!

We ran out to Pubix and I went sans mask. Had a survey from our church that asked if I would attend if a mask was required, I replied no.

In Massachusetts, worship services are "allowed" but masks are required. Even so, many people in Massachusetts are sufficiently cowed that they are unwilling to begin holding services. To say I'm disappointed is quite the understatement.

No, it's because I am mature enough that I can see it is wrong to risk the lives of kids and animals (not to mention my own) riding full blast at night on a road with potholes and tuk-tuks. I see guys like you all the time.
