At my son's yesterday to go out to dinner for our grandson's Birthday. They were talking about having today off work and school. I asked why and they said, "Indigenous People's Day" and I responded with "Columbus Day". They didn't seem to like that, in fact my grandson made some comment about not celebrating a mass murderer any more.

I was at an Apple Festival in far northern Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Superior and right off the Apostle Islands.
There are many reservations around the area, and of course Indian casinos. One parking lot attendant was taking reservations because she was a teacher of largely indigenous students and they were taking a trip to Guatemala next spring.
I saw many indigenous people at this festival. They seem to have taken all of the bad things from non-indigenous society and doubled down. Obesity, hood-rat clothes, and some meth mouth in older people.

Now the popular thing for stupid people to do is fentanyl.
Less expensive but far more damaging.

Really pisses me off when addicts illegally use every new drug that comes along and gives it bad name and then they're restricted for legitimate medical use. They gave me fentanyl when I had my hip replacement. Thank God for opiates! Fuck addicts and their lazy enabled lifestyle. And fuck the government for restricting domestic production while China makes the stuff and Mexican cartels illegally smuggle it into our country. Close the fucking border! Stop feeding drug addicts! They'll get clean when they're hungry enough, or they'll die. Either way, problem solved. Leave doctors and patients the hell alone.

Punishing everyone because of the bad behavior of stupid people is a long standing liberal policy. They never get it right whenever they try to intervene and never will because they look at life as zero sum game and can't seem to fathom how many changes happen whenever you alter one rule.
liberals can't seem to allow themselves to imagine living in a where world of multiple outcomes are possible and always chooses the path of most invasion of personal rights.

It is, and always will be, Columbus Day — and should be acknowledged as such....
Today is Columbus Day; it is not Indigenous People’s Day. It is not any other day left-wing cultural assassins want to make it. Despite these radicals’ attempts to reshape our nation’s culture to align with their values and beliefs, the second Monday in October is, and will always be, the holiday recognized to celebrate the achievements of Christopher Columbus.
