"The American side has been ambiguous when and which tariffs will be lifted. The Chinese have some wishful thinking and are trying to soothe their domestic hardliners that the tariffs will someday come off."
In other words, China is practically begging for tariffs to be lifted.

Without US, the Chinese economy tanks, and they know it. Trump knows it. Even the Dems know it, they just won't admit it.

Yet, the Democrats, the Media and half the country cry TRADE WAR, and say we are going to have hyper inflation due to tariffs. We have VERY LOW inflation right now, around 1.7% annually. Yet the Media says nothing about it.
Trump is a businessman, and negotiator. He understand the LEVERAGE our huge, affluent market gives us against the Chinese, Europeans, Mexicans, Japanese, etc. The cowards before him just kicked the can down the road, Republicans and Democrats. They didn't want to upset the Globalist apple cart.
