I think the question is, who declared marshal law?
Zelensky declared martial law the morning after Russia invaded this last time. Ukraine's parliament has been voting to extend it every 90 days or it lapses. The last vote to extend Ukrainian martial law for another 90 days was on May 8.

Petro Poroshenko was president of Ukraine before Zelensky and he had declared Ukrainian martial law in 2018 for 30 days after Russia fired upon and seized three Ukrainian naval vessels and their crews.

Russian aggression was the common element in those declarations, not the person who was president at the time and definitely not Blinken.

Anyone who dares speak the truth you brand as "Putin Talking Points" to try to deflect criticism.  You apparently now support totalitarianism forms of government.  And add in you are now a war monger.
When it comes to Zelensky, you rarely speak the truth. Zelensky, Zelensky, and Zelensky are your main talking points. You constantly make claims that don't stand up under close scrutiny.

All because you need a reason to argue against spending our money to aid Ukraine. I agree that we shouldn't fund some other country's defense. In the case of Ukraine that policy decision should have been made and communicated well before Russia invaded Ukraine. Once a commitment is made and support is later started then any cessation will be taken by an aggressor like Putin as confirmation that he need merely wait out his enemies in all future conflicts. Totalitarian states like China, Iran and North Korea will take away the same lesson.

The US is estimated to have about 750 military bases in 80 countries and there are a mix of implicit and explicit commitments the US has made regarding their use. The US needs to get out of them now - before any fighting starts. This article is worth reading on the problem:

Do you deny the Ukraine legislature is under the control of Zelenskyy, and they have seen him arrest political opposition to him? Dictator Zelensky has jailed his political opponents and uses "Pro-Russian" as his excuse.
Use of plural "opponents" presumes facts not in evidence. Name one politician, other than Viktor Medvedchuk, who has been arrested?

If banning parties means a country is not a democracy worthy of support, tell me what this action means:

What talking point?  Please point out what is not true?   The dictator's presidential term has ended.   Elections have been suspended.

Ever notice when the truth comes out, it get's labeled ""Putin Talking Point"?
"He has now extended his term by martial law" is false. He doesn't control when martial law is lifted.
Putin talking point:
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/putin-says-legitimacy-ukraines-zelenskiy-is-over-2024-05-24/
"Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Friday that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy had no legitimacy following the expiry of his five-year term and this would raise a legal obstacle if Russia and Ukraine were to hold peace talks."

Ever the apologist for marxists, communists, democrats, and progressives (which is the same thing),
Jim has shown up to attack anything challenging the supremacy of the big state.
I attacked the authoritarian Putin and his propaganda team - it is just that Lucifer insists on putting himself in the line of fire by channeling Kremlin propaganda.

Put it this way: do you deny that a provision exists in the Ukraine constitution to suspend elections during a war? And that provision was not put in by Zelensky? And that it is up to the Ukraine legislature, not Zelensky, to end the state of emergency and allow elections?

Let me know which of those claims you dispute and supply your supporting references.

I wondered what the latency was from the time a Putin/Kremlin talking point was issued and when it appears on this forum. Looks to be about a week or so. Slower than I expected.

Trump will be an improvement over Biden.
At least on some things (like Federal judicial appointments.)
Fiscally? Well consider:

And now the dictator wants to fire US produced missiles into Russia.   This of course would escalate and more than likely kick off WW3.
U.S. produced munitions have been fired into Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, all claimed by Russia as Russian territory as of 2022. Likewise into Crimea, which Russia declared as their territory back in 2014.

According to Putin and Kremlin "red line" warnings we should have kicked off WW3 by now. You might ask yourself what Putin or the power elites in the Kremlin have to gain by escalating to a world war versus what they have to lose.

Since Ukraine is already launching drones successfully toward distant targets deep inside Russia it isn't going to make a bit of difference if some munitions are now U.S. made.

The WSJ editorial board noted that Trump discussed abortion at the New Jersey rally:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/trumps-wildwood-days-2024-presidential-election-77942db7?st=9emjh2kfnn7pyka&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink

Quote
Late in the Wildwood rally, Mr. Trump addressed abortion. For the record, it is worth quoting. The media covered the s-word but had nothing on the a-word.

“We’ve also gotten abortion out of the federal government and back to the states,” Mr. Trump said, a reference to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization (2022), which overturned Roe v. Wade.

“[It] is now up to the will of the people in each state,” he said. “Some states will be more conservative and others will be more liberal. . . . Some will have more weeks than others, or many more weeks.”

In a bow to political reality, he described the recent results on abortion ballot measures in two Midwestern states: “If you take a look at Ohio, they just voted a different vote than people thought, much more liberal, you would say, much more, as they would say, progressive. . . . Kansas the same thing. But that’s the way it is, and it’s something that we should cherish.”

Mr. Trump’s position as he described it Saturday is more in sync with what Nikki Haley said during the primaries. If Mr. Trump blunts this issue, a huge crack opens in the Biden “extremist” strategy.

This is relevant - worth a watch to the end (I found it understandable at 2x playback speed, though maybe cause I've conditioned myself to watch talking-head videos at that rate. Fast talkers like The History Guy are rare.) Illegal immigration aided and abetted by the UN. Global "equity" is the goal.

Warning: necropost!

The videos I linked to had been taken down at some point. I see the whole series has been reposted by yet another youtuber:

I like the series and bought it in DVD. A few of the episodes I like and will shamelessly flog:

Rip Torn does a nice job playing a D.I.:

Tucker is the consummate propagandist - he, like Lucifer, can walk right past and otherwise ignore anything that doesn't lead his audience to the beliefs he intends. (The video doesn't support the broad claim in the video's banner image - but great way to rile people up!)

Consider that this is the same Bob Amsterdam writing with equal confidence about Trump and Russia's hold over him just several years ago (and whose first statement in the video is, contrary to Tucker's goal, "I supported the bill because it is the parishioners of our church who are on the front line right now and could use all the help they can get."):

Quote
Robert Amsterdam, a lawyer at international law firm Amsterdam & Partners with considerable experience in Russian affairs, told The Independent there was “no question” that US intelligence agencies and the FBI had information about Trump’s financial dealings with Russian entities prior to the 2016 US election.

“Trump’s relationship with Russia goes back many, many years. I’m sure the FBI was monitoring it,” he said.
Two parallel investigations into alleged ties between Trump associates and Russia during the 2016 presidential election as well as Russia’s alleged tampering with the election are being conducted in Congress at the moment.
...
Mr Amsterdam said one possible explanation is “that the FBI has an informer who was once part of the Trump organisation” and that information was not released in order to protect that source.
....

In the video he  claims the Ukrainian secret police is still heavily infiltrated by Russians. Um, if that was the case wouldn't they be using their fifth column on something more  useful to Russia than harassing a Christian church? That claim really undermines his credibility regarding the scope and severity of his claims. The harassment isn't in doubt, since the religious clashes  appear to predate the 2022 Russian invasion.

He is representing the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), which had been a diocese of the Moscow Patriarchate, headed by Patriarch Kirill. Since the 1990s  Kirill has been the main proponent of a ban on Jehovah's Witnesses in Russia, among other dubious holdings. Since 2014 he has been a big supporter of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Allegedly a former employee of the KGB. Not surprising, then, that Ukrainians would harass members of UOC, often unfairly.
