I came here from POA and was kind of hesitant at the time. I thought this site may get out of control, but it has amazed me how well everyone can act without people having to monitor everything they discuss. The Mods on POA definitely made their own problems out of the political conversations. I enjoy reading all the posts on here and the freedom here, just wish there were more people contributing.

The mods at POA are a bunch of pansies headed by the head whiner, Mari. They deserve each other.

I think the biggest problem was Mari participating in the SZ, also SixPC would come in and get his butt kicked and run off and complain. Look at the timing of the announcement of closing the SZ. It came right after Gastons last year.
The kept saying it was because of so many PMs they were getting about the SZ. I would have simply told them to suck it up and deal with it as an adult and quit looking for mommy or daddy MC to take care of it.

The official party line for the closing of the SZ was just that, a line. No evidence was presented, justifications were inconsistent and illogical, it was pure, unadulterated censorship, nothing more - the last arrow in the quiver of the Left when they cannot compete on level ground, is to tilt the playing field in their favor, or close the filed entirely.
I have not been back to POA since I bailed, don't miss it one bit - especially after hearing here about the recent participation trophies and easily predicted butthurt over the election results.
At least most of the Liberals here are classical Liberals who actually attempt to present and defend their positions here - the inability of the Leftists in positions of power on the MC at POA proved them so ineffectual they resorted to the only tool they had to deal with the constant drubbing they received, close it down.
I prefer the company of adults who are confident enough in their positions and beliefs to put them out for free and open discussion.

have not been back to POA since I bailed, don't miss it one bit
I do go back and peek in, as there are a few people on there I do like and want to keep up with them somewhat. Esp. since I'm not a facebook/twitter/social media person. (I did a facebookextomy years ago, don't miss it a bit)

I suspect you are joking, but your logic is inverted. Mari and POA are providing the safe space. The refugees (Us spin-zoners) feel that is unnecessary and counter productive.

But the logic is correct. POA is a private web board, they can make whatever rules they want or provide whatever "space" they want. Not a single person is required to go there. If the site doesn't suit oneself, don't go there, it is all a matter of choice. I thought freedom of choice was a tenant of the right??
Personally, closing down spin zone was a big disappointment, but I understand that it was their call.

It certainly is their forum to do with what they want. What about the thread where the guy asked about the proposed Transportation Secretary and how she might impact General Aviation. Seemed to me like it was a good discussion topic and the replies seemed pretty tame to me. I couldn't figure out why it was closed.
Seems like lately there have been more threads deemed to be political in nature that would have been good in the SZ. I've thought about inviting more of those folks here, but worried about getting banned just for doing that.

The lack of liberal/progressive member participation (POA/Pilotspin) tells me a lot about their character. It is also an indication of why SZ was shut down in the first place. It is as if a child puts their fingers in their ears, and yells, "LA, LA, LA, LA........to drown out reality.

Of course they did. Folks can't help themselves.
Personally, I don't know how she will do. When she was SOL the NLRA was understaffed and backlogged on cases. But that wasn't on her, it was on her boss.
