Title: Colorado Case Argued Before USSC Today
Post by: Number7 on February 08, 2024, 10:31:48 AM
The court gave the attention seeking, leftist loonies from colorado their ten minutes of exposure today.

It looks like the court is set to decide in favor of the rightful President and not the lunatic communist left that is dead set on hijacking ANOTHER election.

As the Supreme Court heard arguments on whether Donald Trump can be kept off the state ballot, there were signs that the justices have skepticism about such a move.

Justice Elena Kagan told Jason Murray, attorney for the group of voters challenging Trump’s eligibility, “Most boldly, I think the question you have to confront is why a single state should decide who gets to be president of the United States.” She suggested that the decision on who is disqualified for insurrection under the 14th Amendment was a federal one. She said that it “seems quite extraordinary” that the decision in one state could have such a sweeping impact.

Turley On How Eviscerating the Questioning Became.

...Kagan is again raising what must be concerning questions for the disqualification advocates. She is saying that Murray is ignoring the "broader principle" limiting the power of states on national questions like this one. "What's a state doing deciding who other citizens get to vote for president?

Dare I hope how this is going to go?  Could it possibly be unanimous?

Possibly unanimous.  But I wouldn't put money on either side yet.  I have followed too many cases where the justices hammer one side or the other, then give them the judgement they seek.
(where is that "fingers crossed" emoticon)?

The only question is Sotomayor.

And the Chief Justice would like a solid 9-0 as this looks better on the court and basically ends it.

We’ll see

Sotomayor wouldn't be any dumber if you cut her head off.

Having personally been on protective details for both Kagan and Sotomayar, Kagan was awesome. Both very nice. But even though Kagan's politics are wrong, she was for sure the more intelligent to the two, and you could tell she cared more about being a judge then a female of color judge.

I don't trust any democrat.  They can simply pull a FJB after the Supreme Court ruled that he had no authority to forgive student loans.  By his own words, he's doing it anyway.  The democrat shitholes can simply "forget" to put Trump's name on the ballot.  Ooops.. so sorry.

I'm either having a brain fart of I'm just getting forgetful(er).  Or both.

Wasn't there another 9-0 decision in Trump's favor recently?  Or am I just thinking about an earlier discussion that predicted this might go 9-0.

You might be thinking of the prediction this one would go that way.

https://babylonbee.com/cleanArticle/in-shocking-blow-to-democracy-supreme-court-affirms-voters-can-vote-for-candidate-they-want

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a stunning unanimous decision that dealt a shocking blow to democracy, the United States Supreme Court affirmed that people can vote for the candidate they want.

The landmark ruling, issued just as the 2024 Presidential Election prepared to ramp up, presents a grave new threat to American freedom, as all nine justices declared that voters can, in defiance of what the ruling authorities may want, select their preferred candidate.

"We've never seen democracy in such danger," said black and gay White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who is black and gay. "Today's ruling from the Supreme Court now adds credence to the belief held by fringe extremists that they are allowed to select the candidate they want in an election. This is terrifying."

The state of Colorado had boldly and bravely attempted to preserve democracy by removing former President Donald Trump from the ballot, but the nation's highest court ended all hope that freedom and liberty would reign. "We don't have a country anymore," said a despondent Rachel Maddow. "You mean to tell me that — in a DEMOCRACY — people can just go out and vote for whoever they want?! Why don't you just burn the Constitution already? No, seriously, can we burn it?"

At publishing time, Democrats at all levels of government across the country decried the ruling as the end of America as we know it, ushering in a new and dangerous era of people getting to vote for the candidate they want to be in charge.

I never understand how democrats can HATE freedom with such venom while claiming to be protecting freedom by taking away freedoms.

It is the very definition of manipulative gaslighting. If America were a couple, the Democrat regime would be an abusive psychopathic spouse.

Just ask yourself who's freedom they are trying to protect.
