The nerve of this guy to make this comment! :
In the same question-and-answer session here, Boehner referred to Ted Cruz as "lucifer".

If a brokered convention installs an establishment pick there will be repercussions.

Repercussions, all out riots.

Possibly, but I am having a hard time remembering any serious right-wing rioting. I think that is primarily a tool of the left.

It is. But right now the GOP is laying the ground work to attempt to take the nomination away from the two left running and put their own guy in. The melt down to follow will be epic, and the end of the RNC and GOP.

If there is no majority on the first ballot at the convention, they should just drop the bottom candidate and have another ballot, repeat as necessary until one candidate gets a majority.
No new candidates introduced. Leave it to the elected delegates.

I agree. But it sounds too logical to happen.

Except it doesn't work that way. It's the RNC's party and they write the rules.
Kasich is the spoiler and will go most if not all the way to Cleveland which will rob Cruz of votes. Kasich is looking at life after being Ohio Governor and if he plays his cards correctly he will find a position in the Trump administration (if Trump wins) or find favoritism with the GOP if the convention is brokered (for helping stop Cruz).
Kasich could very well end up on a VP slot, for someone.

That may not be a bad thing. It is irreparably damaged.
Go Federalist Party!

It guarantees a President Hillary in November. That is a BAD thing.

I don't think a successful Third Party can be formed in 8 months, but thought that would be self-evident. Apparently not to you.
This is a long-term proposition.

A Hilary presidency can be mitigated if a few things happen:
1. The SCOTUS rules that President Obama's over reach of executive actions is unconstitutional and;
2. The Republicans retain control of both houses of Congress
These two things would help to mitigate anything she would try and do. The downside, however, is that she would get her SCOTUS pick. If the Republicans hold true to not confirming a pick until the next President is elected then point #1 above is not likely which makes point #2 irrelevant.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 83 years old and not in good health. Anthony Kennedy is 80. Steven Bryer is 78. Clarence Thomas is 68.
How many Justices could the next President pick in a 4 year term?

Several, but if the Republicans maintain control of both houses of Congress, even if Hilary gets elected she will have to compromise on something, at some point. Of course I suppose we could just look at the current president and his lack of willingness to work with Republicans or compromise on anything and just use executive actions to push things through, legal or not. Something Hilary already said she'd do. So maybe in that case it wouldn't matter. :o

Hillary will get to pick as many as needed for those whom resign or die. Probably three or four. That is why she can not be President.
