Rusty & Student Pilots / New Certified Private Pilot
« on: March 31, 2018, 02:06:58 AM »
In 2015 EAA 690 launched a Youth Build Program designed to give youth an opportunity to work on aircraft projects and learn about airplanes and aviation as well as how to use tools and construction techniques.

In May of 2016 a young man by the name of Jeremy Welch began attending our build program. Jeremy had a goal of becoming a pilot and he set out a plan to do just that.  His first goal was to solo on his 16th birthday. He missed that one by only two days and soloed on April 1st, 2017, the morning of our chapter pancake breakfast.
Over the next year Jeremy methodically checked off his intermediate goals along the way to his scheduled check ride date of March 30th, 2018, Jeremy's 17th birthday.

I am proud to say that Jeremy has achieved that goal and is the chapter's first Certificated Private Pilot to come out of our build program.  We do want to thank the AeroVentures Flying Club for giving us the opportunity to rent their Cessna 150 for our youth and special thanks to John Post, Fred Huppertz and other CFIs in the club for donating their time and effort to help Jeremy achieve his goal.

The first picture is Jeremy with his parents and John Post after his solo. The second picture is Jeremy along with his DPE after his successful check ride.

I have an absolute surety that FecesBook knows nothing about me. I am not a product, never will be. Same with myspace, linkedin, twit, and whatever other is out there.

Turn a beloved classic story filled with home truths into a cuckified, watered down and incoherent yawn, only to find that people don't like it?

She should go on a blaming tour in India!

All this talk of compromise brings back fond memories of how the Dems pushed obamacare through the HR, senate, prez, SCOTUS. That-there was some real handshake, backslappin' give and take. I'll tell you, the nations law-makers really came together on that one, and reached across the aisle.  :o

President Donald Trump's North Korea Scorecard:

Palettes of Cash Sent: 0
Promises Made: 0
Submissive Bows: 0
Apologies Issued: 0
Sanctions Lifted: 0
Public US Humiliations: 0
Free Goods Delivered: 0
Allies Alienated: 0

Simple math.

Joe, no one is robbing banks with these guns. They are all just nuts who aren't concerned with what will happen to themselves. We already have laws against killing people. IMO it is a drug problem and a family problem; we didn't see these kind and quantity of crimes when Mom stayed home with the kids while Dad was at work, there were no psychotropic drugs being handed out like gumdrops, and people identified as crazy got put away for everyone's protection.

And don't forget, law enforcement AND the FBI knew this kid was a problem and did nothing.

Of course, we can't really blame the FBI, they were busy chasing down FB trolls.  ::)

This whole thing is very disturbing. I was set to vote for Hillary and all of the sudden anti-Hillary ads just popped up on FB and told me to vote for Trump. I’m so weak and fragile I just said “yes, Comrade.”

All the Dem usual suspects calling for more gun control laws to disarm the law abiding.

Never let a crisis go to waste.

Spin Zone / Re: The Memo
« on: February 05, 2018, 07:36:08 PM »
The point you seem to keep missing, or can't comprehend, is that an agency of the US government, the Dept of Justice had used it's power of investigation against a political opponent at the direction of a political party.

The previous administration had weaponized the DoJ/FBI much in the same way they weaponized the IRS and EPA to go after political opponents.

And they thought they would get away with it, and keep it hidden because Hillary was going to be elected.  Part of the reason they continue to want to delegitimize the Trump Presidency.

James Comey summed up the Nunes memo the best -  “That’s it!??”

We were warned ahead of time that this would either be the greatest scandal since Watergate (per Steve King) or a collection of cherry picked incoherent facts (per Adam Schiff) which will destroy our national security.  It is neither.  Pretty much political drama.

The memo outlines that Democrats used a political hit piece in order to justify initiating 100% surveillance of a campaign aide.  that means that him and everyone that he talked to not only were listened to, but also became targets of the surveillance.  The FBI and specifically people with extreme bias against Trump and loyalty to the Democrat party used the FBI's power to listen to everything that was happening in the Republican campaign.

If you're ok with that, then you're also ok with Republicans do the same in the midterms?

Jaybird, one of the things I respect about you is the same thing I respect in every person who is successful. That is, you did what it took to be a success.

The thing that makes me grit my teeth when I read many of your posts is the sense of outrage you seem to feel that EVERY Black man isn't equally successful.

Well guess what? Everyone has the same opportunity, Many (actually most) refuse to work it to the end result. Those who do are the winners. Everybody else works for them.

When you buy into the blind racism that everyone who refuses to agree is racist, and expect people to buy it, you are the racist for thinking your opinion is he only acceptable conclusion.

The race card is so overused, that when you play it, you loose me. I don't care how hard you think you had it, any more than you care how hard I worked to succeed. Just because you think your road was so awful, or tough, or long, or hard, doesn't obligate anyone to care.

I have a news flash for you.

Everybody's life is hard. Everyone was held back, held up, taken advantage of, or abused on the way to success.

Assuming that a black man had a struggle because of racism ignores the reality. It may be perceived racism on your part, but typically, in this age, people judge others on the content of their character, their work, and their dependability. Not their skin color.

In my experience people obsessed with pointing to others and crying racism are more often than not, the real racist in the discussion.

You want to claim I'm a racist for daring to call it like I see it, enjoy yourself, but I know how brutally blind you are when you do.

And, by the way, your 'gaslighting' claim is pure projection.

Did anyone else notice that when the president said "Sh**hole" countries, he didn't name any names.  But a lot of countries got upset.

I guess those countries agree because they self identified themselves in the president's comment.
