Title: follow the science - a benchmark

Who will let go of mask mandates and when will be an interesting test.

As long as the communist party (democrats) can gain, or keep power, the BIG LIE about masks will continue to be forced down on Americans.
Liberals are stupid and useless, but that pales when compared to their desire to be told what to do, think, and say.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/fully-vaccinated.html
This was designed to give Biden a small “victory against Covid” even though it is 100% impossible for  businesses to follow, and is thus meaningless.

Most companies seem to use the “we are following CDC guidelines” reason for their mask rules, in addition to state or local mandates. Well how in the fuck is my company supposed to deal with this?  Ask people to prove they’ve been vaccinated?

Every day we are in the office out intranet pops up a 4 question survey.  Questions 2-4 are along the lines of do you have a fever, do you live with someone who has symptoms, etc.

But the first question is “Have you been fully vaccinated against Covid-19?” Or something NTO that effect. The answers are, for now:

-Yes
-No
-I prefer not to answer

I wonder how long the last answer will remain.

1) GFY, Joe.
2) Supposedly vaccination does nothing to prevent anyone from transmitting the virus.
3) So why are vaccinated people allowed to unmask?
4) GFY, Joe.

from the CDC

"
COVID-19 vaccines are effective at preventing COVID-19 disease, especially severe illness and death.
COVID-19 vaccines reduce the risk of people spreading COVID-19."

Except TSA is still requiring mask at airports.  And airlines are still requiring mask.

Hopefully the TSA will back off.

Yes, I’m curious about that. Is it the honor system?

Apparently Walmart is trusting customers and not asking for proof, but employees have to show proof.

sure, honor system.  kind of like voter qualification, rh?

but not like the requirements to attend a DNC event.

I’m not an attorney, but I think we will soon see whether HIPAA laws mean something or not.

Companies are going to be violating a real law (HIPAA) to comply with a fake guideline. Dangerous territory.

find and fix errors in their health records

A total JOKE.  It’s virtually impossible to fix errors. Maybe if you spend $$$$ on an attorney to go after doctors and insurance companies you can fix something. No amount of bitching with doctors and staff got them to remove “diabetes” from my record or “paralyzed left arm” from my mother’s.  Her left arm is and always has been perfectly fine and I do not have diabetes.

Nearly every record I look at has some sort of error. I told one doctor I was intolerant to gluten, it came out “allergic to eggs” in my record. No mention of gluten. Even if you get them to correct something it will never translate down through all the insurance and third party databases out there. The electronic record keeping is an unholy mess.

My experience exactly, with different errors. My mom, too. Even the spelling of names, wrong dates ... it’s worse than useless, so I stopped even logging on and using it, for me and for her, at all the doctors we see.

I only wonder if somewhere down the line a serious error of some kind will result from the erroneous records left uncorrected.

I’m not an attorney, but I think we will soon see whether HIPAA laws mean something or not.

https://www.hhs.gov/hipaa/for-professionals/privacy/guidance/access/index.html

Covered entities per HIPAA:
https://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Administrative-Simplification/HIPAA-ACA/AreYouaCoveredEntity (https://www.cms.gov/Regulations-and-Guidance/Administrative-Simplification/HIPAA-ACA/AreYouaCoveredEntity)

HIPAA only applies to the following covered entities:

Health Plans (e.g. health insurance companies, HMOs, Medicare, etc.)
Clearinghouses (i.e. organizations that process nonstandard health information.)
Providers (doctors, clinics, dentists, nursing homes, pharmacies, etc.)

That is it. HIPAA addresses at least two different aspects: the right of an individual to see the medical records a covered entity has on them, and the requirement that a covered entity secure those records against release to unauthorized parties. Asking someone if they are vaccinated or otherwise requiring it does not fall under the scope of HIPAA. There are other principles one could appeal to in arguing against demands for vaccination or proof thereof, but I think the HIPAA argument is founded on a misunderstanding of its intent and scope.

Well they already threw HIPPA out the window completely by declaring this a covid19 “emergency” as per this:

May an HIE provide PHI it has received as a business associate of a covered entity to a PHA for public health purposes without first obtaining permission from the covered entity?

Yes, during the COVID-19 public health emergency

and the can't-let-go-of-the-masks whining starts

In the Sunday Boston Herald there is an opinion piece (albeit not in the editorial section - go figure) that has the headline "Let's wait - latest CDC guidance on ditching masks comes too soon"

The maroon writing the piece makes statements as if they were fact when, in reality, they are just her (ignorant) opinion.

I believe that journalists do not have the ability to understand that their opinions are not facts.

hey - amazing.  maskachusetts is opening up

https://www.mass.gov/news/baker-polito-administration-to-lift-covid-restrictions-may-29-state-to-meet-vaccination-goal-by-beginning-of-june

there are still some mask magic requirements, but at least some of the politicians in maskachusetts aren't continuing to cower.

I'm sure many of the people here will be crying and wailing and whining.  But, I'm hoping most of the people will be saying "good riddance" to the masks, etc

Distinguishing "dying from" from "dying with".  We have to drive the numbers down to give Xiden a win to distract from his failures.

I’ve heard this type of thing for years now. “They’re panicking! They’re caught now! This will be the thing that wakes up the country.” Blah blah blah.

Media will bury, some distraction will ensue, and “they” go merrily on.

I want me some snipers, swinging corpses, and/or at least some convictions.

Ok stand by what I wrote.

And the scurrying and the sudden change of “science” are those running for cover.  Now, what happens next?, I have no idea.  I doubt anything will come from it, except we’re finally getting out from under this mass idiocy.
