Title: Going Conspiracy Theory.....
Post by: EppyGA - White Christian Domestic Terrorist on July 07, 2018, 07:10:00 PM
Interesting news out of NK after Pompeo's recent trip.  Conspiracy theory time.....
If you wanted to make Trump look bad on foreign policy why not work with the "rocket man" and get him to take the summit and make it look like he is agreeable to denuke then when it's allover and he's gotten his pictures with Trump and all go back and tell the world "we're not giving up anything".  Would you put it past Obama, the deep state or whatever to orchestrate such a thing?

Trump has always qualified his dealings with NK with “We’ll see.” If Kim acted as you describe, Trump would undoubtedly respond much like he has all along.

Diplomacy is tricky, especially with a rogue dictatorial government.

Trump has not given NK anything.  On the other hand, NK gave back hostages, agreed to meet in Singapore and is still willing to talk.  One story the MSM is hiding is that the Kim regime has been cleaning up NK and taking down all the anti American billboards and propaganda.  Also NK TV has acknowledged Kim's meetings with Trump as well as the SoS.  Another story hidden is NK cooperating with the return of US soldiers remains.

The alt left progressives want this to fail.  The latest stories from NK cite "unnamed sources" and other bullshit.   Take what the MSM is reporting with a grain of salt.

Well, the US unilaterally suspended the annual joint exercises with SK that the Norks complained about. It wasn't 'giving' NK anything but it did signal that we would volunteer a concession which had real intl repercussions. Of course, we can always go back and schedule them for later this year if we want.

True that none of the sanctions or economic restrictions were changed after the summit. And from what I can see, the Norks erroneously figured the US would roll over and lift some or all of the sanctions before the nuclear weapons and rockets were scrapped. Trump wisely didn't agree to anything like this, but I'm pretty sure that's what the Norks were expecting. They're trying to 'play' Trump and force him to give-in and Trump wisely isn't having any of it. Thus making the NK negotiators upset.

Oh well...

The military excercises that were suspended weren't due to occur till spring 2019.  The planning and everything else is still there, so it wouldn't be a big deal to reinstate that if the US wanted.

Perhaps Kim was hoping for a cargo plane loaded with various currencies to secretly land in Pyongyang in the middle of the night........oh wait, wrong President!

It would appear that Kim wants to be junior rocket boy instead of an international leader.  Oh well, I have a feeling that he is now campaigning to see that what has been recognized can be unrecognized and isolated again.  So sad that he showed such great promise only to show that he just intends to jerk us around.  Not happening.

Welcome to negotiations, Asian style.

Asians typically see any negotiations as always should be to their favor, and they should set the conditions. Then they play hardball to try to cement their demands.  The only way to win with them is be prepared to walk away, several times if that’s what it takes. In the end the stronger prevails.

The previous negotiations were always appease on our part, which is exactly what they want.  The game has changed now.

Maybe we need to bring the USS Missouri out of mothballs and sail to offshore NK to show these Norks how the last Asian Superpower “negotiation” went back in 1945.

Maybe.  Battleships are enormously expensive to operate.

Even at the end of WW2 the Japanese tried to control the terms of surrender.  Truman stood firm.

Today.   The Japanese tend to be easier to negotiate with.  The real problems in negotiations come from the Chinese who view anything contractual as holding the other party to the terms of the contract while they feel their side is free to reinterpret at their will.  Misrepresentation (lying) is just considered to be a business practice.

NK tends to be heavily influenced by the Chinese.

Trump gave Kim exactly what he (Kim) wanted.  He never had any intention of doing anything, he wanted the meeting with the American President to give him status abroad (look, he's not just the despotic leader of a criminal regime, he's a real world leader!) and propaganda at home (our dear leader is at the same level at the most powerful man in the world!).  And of course Trump fell for it.

And of course Trump will be vigorously defended by his apologists here.  Cue the insults about academia and drive by posts.  I guess they'll have to substitute for any reasoned discussion.

School is out, and the perfesser doesn't have his students to berate in the classroom, so he comes here to vent.

No need for insults from me when you do such a perfect job showing everyone what an insult to humanity people like yourself are.   And please, please keep up the TDS and the fake outrage, you and your ilk are doing more to insure greater republican majority's and helping to insure the reelection of President Trump.

 Way to go!

Date, time, location of the most recent missile test from NK? Nuke test?

Yeah - thought so.

The US gave UN(family names are used in Korea, not given names), exactly a few minutes of media time. The suspension of our joint exercise has been put off, or delayed at Trump's decision, not Un.

Trump gave Kim exactly what he (Kim) wanted.

Exactly...a spotlight.  The trouble with a spotlight is that it makes everyone pay attention when you start playing stupid reindeer games too.

Since the meeting in Singapore, Kim has shown himself to be a third rate petty politician.  His stock has fallen rapidly.

Hey Mikey,

Exactly how has getting everything he wanted from Donald Trump true when your pathetic idol gave them so much free money and they ramped up nuke test and missilie launches, but with Trump it has pretty much ground to a halt?

Are you saying the President of the United States should be weaker, lazier, dumber and give lots more money to the pariah in North Korea?

Would that make you happier?

This is literally true. My husband spent a lot of time in China installing equipment per contracts and he can verify this.

This is true in many other parts of the world as well. And 100% percent of the time with countries run by dictators.
