What did happen is it pissed off their constituents, and they are being mocked and discredited for the losers they are. Even Xiden didn't want them.

Now they are trapped, and awaiting arrest upon returning to Texas. This is yet another Wyle E. Coyote move made by them not thinking this through.

Of course now they seek sympathy in an attempt to get any support. People are getting sick and tired of the elitist attitude of these petty politicians.
