I wouldn't give up. There is an ignore function, I've used it on one that devotes his time to the "puerile and derogatory" constant ranting and found out it makes being here more tolerable.

You may have heard that we are at a tipping point in this country. If any of the three win, we are probably through. I refuse to accept that inevitability, and will fight it at every turn.
By the way, this is why we have Pilot Spin. Sometimes it gets heated. I try to contribute to the content by starting new threads, often using articles of the day. This is political season after all, so politics is going to likely be the topic of the day.

My OP had nothing to do with opposing viewpoints. I would not want this forum to become either a right wing or a left wing echo chamber.
In fact, when the worst two parties started their childish sniping, I usually scanned past the back-and-forth quickly enough that I'd be hard-pressed to identify each with a position.
Finally, the "ignore" function is a tool, which if used judiciously can improve the tone of a forum by filtering out chaff while keeping the wheat, so to speak. I've chosen to weird it very selectively, so if it seems like I'm ignoring content from certain members, it's because I probably am. NOT because I necessarily disagree with their position, just that I find their language, manner and presentation juvenile and not worth my consideration.

If you get hurt feelings because some mean, nasty, Trump voter said something snide or the inverse, then you need to man up, or stop participating win places where people say what they mean.
