Title: Way to go Portland!
Post by: Little Joe on June 18, 2021, 04:13:26 AM
Now you won't have that nasty old SWAT Rapid Response Team to kick around any more.  And your streets will be even safer for protestors, rioters and looters.

I'm waiting for the backlash to these extremely destructive, nonsensical policies from Radical, Far Left Marxists in these Woke cities and burbs. When are people going to actually wake up, not woke up and regain their sanity?

When they run out of other people's money.

When they run out of other people's money.
Except they've learned that does not matter any longer, you just crank up the presses.  A few more years and they'll have to print thousand dollar bills.

This is a BIG problem. The fatal flaw in socialism/communism. When you remove the profit motive and people stop producing as much, and you guarantee incomes and can’t meet it without just printing extra money, you get hyperinflation and eventual destruction of the economy.

That might apply to the Federal government, but "woke cities and suburbs" cannot just print more money.  Of course though FedGov and print more money to bail out those woke cities.  Otherwise those cities run out of money and stop providing services, and their subjects move to areas where there are Other People w Money.

I fear that's exactly the plan.  FedGov prints money and sends it to the bankrupt, woke, and compliant big cities.  The rural folks that actually work for a living are forced to supply the cities with goods and services for whatever scraps may fall.  Welcome to the new plantation.

We've become the Weimar Republic.  What did they do to solve that problem?

Why hasn't the Fed raised Interest Rates yet?

Stan?

I’m not an economist, but the Fed has become super political, on both sides.

History would say that Trump’s explosive economy deserved some rising rates to cool the growth, and I think Trump properly told the Fed to fuck off and leave rates low.

Now, with inflation growing, there is some incentive to keep rates low, but that’s not sustainable.

I’ve heard a few economists say rates with rise in the 2nd half of 2022. Right in time for the 2022 elections.

The Fed doesn’t take direction from any president.  Trump might have told them to fuck off, but they still did whatever they liked.

The Fed didn’t raise rates because they felt the economy was growing at a good rate.  It had nothing to do with what Trump said.

Political pressure and economic reality can motivate the Fed.  It's naive to think otherwise.  In the real world they should have already raised rates.  There's only one reason they haven't.

That’s naive. I never said there was a direct reporting line on an org chart. I said the Fed is influenced by politics. Prove me wrong.
