I know I'm going to be called snotty, or arrogant or worse, but I think you all are being a little petty here.  Big deal if the President's wife is called Doctor, (which she is entitled to).  She obviously worked darn hard to earn the degree.  And she isn't even running for anything, so what is the big deal?
Save it Joe. For 8 years we were force fed that Michelle Obama was the most beautiful woman to grace the White House. Then when Melania came in, she was not only ignored, she was derided and ridiculed.

Now we are being force fed that we MUST call Jill Biden Doctor.

Fuck that.

Rush was off last Friday and Monday. He did his show Tuesday and Wednesday. Bo has tweeted he will not be on today, Todd Herman will fill in.

I fear the end is drawing near for Rush, he doesn't seem to be able to do a full week anymore. Pray for Rush, he needs all the help he can get right now.
I agree completely.

The stunning thing is that on the days that he’s on, HE’S ON. He sounds virtually no different than when he was healthy. I don’t hear any change in his voice, and his energy is it’s usual very high tempo. And lastly he’s so damned optimistic.

I don’t know if a single person on earth, myself included, who would have that level of courage and strength in the face of such a terrible terminal illness.

“This is a bizarre, lunatic, totalitarian cult.” – Ted Cruz

https://therightscoop.com/this-is-a-bizarre-lunatic-totalitarian-cult-ted-cruz/
This is why I backed Ted Cruz in 2016. He’s no Donald Trump, but he’s an irreverent fighter and we need those people to fight for freedom.

Don't mistake the assholes on this forum as racists.  They are assholes to anyone that disagrees with them.  They are no more racist than you are.

Their acceptance of people that disagree with them is on a par with the liberals they all despise.  Some are worse than others.
You’re a pedophile. You unconsciously lust after small children, mostly young boys. Oh, and you’re an asshole if you disagree with me on this, or say anything derogatory to me.

Is that how this conversation thing is now supposed to work?  I’m just trying to understand the rules so I can play this game.

I was just about to say..."Wow Stan has changed since the last time I was here (reading your Rise Above post)" Then I see this one with your explicative. Sorry if I touched a nerve.

Rush says I need to work on being more liked on PS. Let's review what I did wrong?.... Pointed out a historical fact, much of it is now public knowledge- just because it might offend the racial sensitivities of the group. Ooops don't do that again /sarcasm

OTOH, as an initial member adopter of PilotSpin (from the other board) this place was established as a platform to openly discuss controversial viewpoints without vitriol...errr...censorship errr...forget it.....with the hopes....errr...idea that perhaps we can entertain as well as educate ourselves about things that have the ability to affect our life, liberty and something about pursuit of happiness...or something like that.

The last 12 years brought about widespread adoption of social media. As a side-effect, people are discussing all manner of subjects from their own POV and inviting others to see life as they have always seen.

The mistake you make is assuming that I am monolithic. I understand that's your tactic of trying to minimize me or what I have said. Doesn't matter. But don't swing the pendulum too far, I am consistent in my views and would testify to the same, if ever asked. Ooops - I already have done so, in the Federal Judiciary System....and won. Nevertheless...

Even the Marine Corps is capable of evolving its views. Before my time in service, I'd never met or seen in the flesh a self-described "Redneck". A particular one (senior of mine) drove a beat up Ford truck with an Ole Dixie bumper sticker on it, just like in the movies. We had conversations then and we both came away with a greater knowledge of different backgrounds (at least I did - he never asked about mine). The current Commandant of the Marine Corps has outlawed the display of the emblem on all Marine Corps installations. This was probably prompted by other overtly racist symbology found on MC installations (swastikas, nooses,..) since I was in uniform. Racism "in my day" was more covert, enough that I couldn't make a case for it even though my Vietnam era uncles (soldier and sailor) warned me about the Corps' racism. I later learned about its racist heritage through academic study of the institutions' "accomplishments".

So yes, I am one of the Few and Proud, but I still don't shy away from acknowledging that the Corps did some F'd up things. That's called psychological balance. The ability to acknowledge facts, even the inconvenient ones. Can you say the same?
Nice try. “Stan has changed...” - from what or to what?

We were having a robust conversation, right up to the point that you called me racist, due solely to color of MY skin which, according to you, is inextricably connected to unconscious racist bias.

For 12 years I’ve been called racist, either by the race hustlers like Obama, or by the democrats due solely to my affection for our president. Well to all of you who are race mongers, fuck off.

This is why the ubiquitous “we need to have a ‘conversation’ on race” is such bullshit. What YOU want is for me to kneel in shame for something that you claim is within me. Sorry, ain’t happening.

Being Black is my identity. Be bored then. Stick your fingers in your ear and refuse to learn anything...see if I care.  ;D
I feel sorry for you that that is the prism through which you look at your life.  It must be so constraining to constantly look for the racial angle to everything.

We will never reach a color-blind society if all some people see is color, or lack thereof.

I agree on all of these.

Show that the election was invalid.  Identify the cheating.  Identify the people who cheated.  Trump hasn't and that is why every one of his lawsuits has failed.

It is so fatiguing hearing you regurgitate the lies about this election.

These cases weren’t lost on their merits.  Massive amounts of illegal votes were cast in this election. Only a partisan hack would think otherwise. The problem is that no court seems to want to dirty their hands on a political matter.  Cases are being lost or dismissed based not on the merit of the claims, but because courts are refusing to address the issues.

Look at the Wisconsin Supreme Court hearing yesterday. There are viciously partisan Justices on that court, and one guy who fancies himself as Wisconsin’s John Roberts. One justice railed against the Trump lawyer calling his case RACIST. Apparently in her world when democrats shoes to commit fraud in black areas, that insulated them from any possible legal scrutiny, because doing so would be RACIST.

Hmmmm.  It all boils down to whether Dwight was selected as affirmative action virtue signaling although they didn’t call it that back in those days, or whether he really was fully qualified. If fully qualified then Yeager is a racist asshole. If he was selected for tokenism but was in fact inferior in performance then Yeager was correct to oppose him. But of course it gets complicated. If you aren’t accepted by your peers then it’s hard to perform your best so allowances have to be made. But only to a point. Probably none of us are in a position to judge what the truth was.
I love that JB is back, but why do we always have to go back to race?

I just completed this audiobook which by the way is outstanding.

When he commanded the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing in Ubon AFB in Thailand, Olds’ deputy commander was Daniel “Chappie” James Jr.  those two men flew the F-4 Phantom, and were extremely successful.

The legend is that Robin and Chappie were known as “Blackman and Robin,” but Olds’ daughter Christina denies that rumor.

But what was notable was the fact that Chappie being black was not mentioned in a single sentence in the book. That legend was never mentioned in the book. In fact I first knew he was “Blackman” after looking him up in Wikipedia.

Chappie retired as a four star general.

This must go forward. Some Justices of the USSC will attempt to look at the political implications  of this case, and allow that to shape their decision to not intervene. They cannot do that. This case will determine whether we will remain a republic, or turn into an oligarchy.

Invalidating the votes of the citizens of GA, PA, MI and WI (and thus turning over that power to their legislatures) may just save the right of the people to once again have confidence in the integrity of their vote.

Spin Zone / Re: Republicans show their true colors once again
« on: December 09, 2020, 05:56:53 PM »
Your belief is not fact.  Only 53% of Republicans support a Trump 2024 run - Politico poll Tuesday.  At best he could convince those people to leave the Republican party and follow him to a new Trump party, but at least some of those would stick with the party over a personality.

What's sad is that 53% is enough to win a primary, but not enough to beat any semi-competent Democrat challenger. So those other 47% would be holding their noses in the general election and some would withhold their votes.  I still assert Trump lost because he turned people off, regardless of how many people he energized.  High enthusiasm of a smaller voting block is not a winning strategy.  47% hardly qualifies as "not many".

Four years can change a lot.  Trump will have that time to rehabilitate himself with voters.  Other Republicans who want to run will have the chance to position themselves.  We will see what happens in the future.
I thought we were talking about THIS election, genius, not 2024.

News flash:  I don’t support a Trump  candidacy in 4 years either. He will be the same age as Biden, which I consider too old to start a second term.

Do you think that opinion means I held my nose in 2020?

You are so invested in your opinion that you can’t possibly see the enthusiasm that Trump drove, SINGLEHANDEDLY, without virtually ANY GOP support.

People love Trump DESPITE the GOP, not because he was a GOP candidate.

Reread what I said.  Voting for him does not equal loyalty.

If Trump attempts to for a new party, he will get millions to join.  But that number won't be 70 million because they voted for him.  It will be more like 20-30 million, which is a huge number.  However, the only effective outcome of this will be to split the conservative vote and ensure Democrats win where ever this third party is in play.
I can fucking read. I’m saying your premise is wrong.

4 years ago many Republicans held their nose and voted for Trump. I was one of them. SINCE THEN, Trump has proven himself as the most conservative Republican since Reagan, a fighter for conservative values, a fighter for the American people, a destroyer of the swamp, and a good and decent man.

I don’t believe many people held their noses to vote for Trump this time.

Spin Zone / Re: Time To Call It TREASON
« on: December 08, 2020, 01:45:23 PM »
Are you saying the purposeful use of Mail In Voting to commit voter fraud through manufactured ballots, and fake votes is mere incompetence, not Treason?  All justified by a trumped up Virus over reaction.  This is the deliberate manipulation of an election with probable foreign influence and money.
The only way to confirm one person, one vote is to go back to same day, in-person voting, with valid photo ID.  No college ID as they doesn’t show residence of record. No same-day registration. No provisional ballots. No advanced voting. No Mail-in ballots.  If you want an absentee ballot, you must have a verifiable need and only allowed in circumstances beyond your control, such as military being deployed overseas. Being on vacation in Mexico doesn’t count as a valid excuse.
