Very shortly after Number7 started this thread I was going to post something similar to what Flynn eventually posted but I was interrupted before I could compose a response. I'm glad he got around to it. (I did eventually get around to posting a quickly composed counter-argument on the purple board.)

The claim of the UK publishing stats of three times greater death rates in vaccinated is sufficiently incredible that even the biggest skeptic of vaccines should have had their Spidey sense kick in and look into the actual source of the claimed data.

Remember, next time you hate your life, it's all about perspective. I have a friend who reads 2-3 books a week, works out twice a day, and has people that want to have sex with him all the time, yet complains about how much he hates prison.

No Jim. This isn't Polio, nor Scarlet Fever nor the Bubonic Plague.  We needed to let it run its course and not panic and shut down society.  It was used to install more restrictions, more government and make the ELITE richer and more powerful.

Spin Zone / Linebacker II December 1972
« on: December 31, 2021, 09:14:10 AM »
I found this picture from Anderson AFB, Guam, just before Linebacker II. Look at all those B-52s. I sent my buddy (who flew KC-135s in the Gulf of Tonkin as well as for SAC after Vietnam) and Warbird mentor the following question:

 Vic,

This was posted somewhere as being an aerial view of Anderson AFB circa December, 1972, just before Operation Linebacker II.  Were you there?  I had no idea that base was that big.

Stan

Here was his humble response:

“Yep,I was there during Linebacker 2.There was a Soviet sub right off the end of the runway that would relay when and how many Buffs took off and then they could figure when they could expect the raid and consequently be VERY ready. We would take off right before the Buffs and refuel them prestrike..There was still a Japanese soldier from WW2 on the island at that time.He thought the Buffs were still bombing Japan. He surrendered a few years later. It seemed you always took off over the 500' cliffs and then landed over them...Vic .”

Spin Zone / Re: Thread branch - American Exceptionalism.

I'm not going to say that is wrong.  Rather, I am going to expand on it just a little.

American Exceptionalism may not MEAN Americans are better, but because of the Constitution and our form of government, Americans are (were) better because we were ALLOWED to be better.  We were allowed to say what we wanted to.  We were allowed to pursue our passion and take risks and seek rewards (or failure) based on our own choices and desires and abilities.  We were allowed to compete and succeed and to reap those rewards for our efforts.

Not so much any more and it is a shame.
Almost, but significantly incorrect. The originating premise is that we are ALREADY FREE and we allow our government to manage things with our consent.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Apparently There is a little-know video component to ADS-B, and Santa was found to have violated 91.117 for flying faster than 250 knots below 10,000 feet.

Obama?  Yeah, especially the bowing to foreign leaders and Fundamental Transformation.
I think he was talking about Obama’s VP being worse than Kameltoe.

Unless he moved, he was practicing in Peoria, Illinois. Though IL is deep blue, Peoria is somewhat conservative, being in the agricultural center of the state.  The Democrat leanings of Peoria are probably due to the Union labor of Caterpillar and other feeder industries.
His office is now at the Bolingbrook Clow airport. I believe he lives nearby.

Of course they are.  Every time there's an article about the airplane, they point out that Trump rode in Epstein's airplane.

They fail to point out that it was once, from Florida to NYC, when Trump's plane was in maintenance.  Of course, that changes the entire context of it, so it's understandable why they would leave that out.  Such a Clintonesque statement, phrased to mislead everyone into believing something false, while being technically true.
Yep.  And every picture of Epstein shows him standing next to Trump.  Not mentioning that this was a single event where pictures next to Trump are standard for everyone attending.  And that Trump subsequently banned him from his property.

Crenshaw is not a blind supporter of either Trump or even Republicans.  His views usually align with Republicans, but when they don't, he is his own man.  I see him as a person of high integrity, which means sometimes he isn't going to do what you want.

Well that’s no good. He should always do what I want.  ;D

Spin Zone / Re: Papal Source… Pope Francis is dying…

Oh, I get what his purpose is purported to be, but this just gives me images of commissioner Gordon calling Batman on the Batphone. Like the pope has a direct line to god or something.

But that’s not worshipping a false idol, as you said. Like it’s too close to worshipping Commissioner Gordon as a false god. We Catholics understand the Pope is only on the Bat Phone, he isn’t Batman himself.

Same with Mary. We keep getting accused of “worshipping” Mary, because we address certain prayers to her. Not true. The only being(s) we worship is(are) the Father, Son and Holy Ghost - the Holy Trinity, which is the One God. (Don’t get me started on explaining the singular / plural illogic of it.)

Praying “to” Mary is like when you’re a kid and you go beg your mommy to talk daddy out of spanking you.

Although I'm very religious, attend and participate in services regularly, I've never really gotten the pope thing. It gets a little too close to the whole worshiping false idols/gods to me...

Having been raised Catholic, I understand it from the inside. There is no worship for the Pope, not even close. It’s more like the Pope is just Google translate, just a mechanism for conveying to us what supposedly is information from the divine. What looks like apparent idol worship (the crowds and love and so forth) is more like love for any celebrity or leader in any organization, and respect for the fact that he has the Google translate power. Like how you’d look up to Obiwan Kenobe. You wouldn’t mistake him for a god. Just a really talented sorcerer or swordsman (light sabersman?) or practitioner of the good side of the Force or whatever.

I finally concluded that no human can interpret God or morality to me, and that includes long dead ones that wrote stuff down centuries ago. It’s funny that Protestants reject the Pope as intermediary but follow to the letter a book - also mere human translations of The Word. Protestants say the Bible is divinely inspired and Catholics say the Pope is divinely infallible. I see little difference. Koran, same difference, Book of Mormon, same difference. Bhagavad Gita, same difference.

That doesn’t mean I don’t find wisdom in all these written words nor do I have a problem with people that do believe certain humans are privileged messengers for God, as long as they don’t act morally superior to me.
