They couldn’t just quit once they achieved equality. They had to go off into crazy land which is backfiring and resurrecting the old style bigotry against them. Worse, they seem to be encouraging it. 50 years ago gays were thought to be pedophiles. The truth is they are no more pedophiles than straights; we have pedos in all sexual orientations. 50 years ago there were no equal rights. No laws against discrimination and they couldn’t marry. Now they have achieved all of that. Time to quit and leave well enough alone.
But no. The lunatic fringe thinks their mission is now thought control and total cultural change. Erase all criticism and eliminate the slightest negative attitude toward them. That is not possible. In the effort to cram radicalism down the world’s throat they are actually validating the original prejudices. Taking little kids to drag shows looks for all the world like gays are all pedophiles and they are igniting all the old hatred against them.
For 50 years I’ve been on their side. And I still am on the side of sane, normal gay and trans people. But this fringe minority brainwashed by the same woke lunatics that did this to blacks, women, fat people, and any other group they claim is still oppressed, are hurting, not helping their cause. It creates more division, not less, to continue bashing people for the past, especially when those doing the bashing are too young to have ever experienced real discrimination.

This year’s Pride month is even more over the top, and I worry about the trajectory. My firm is celebrating it, and sent out an email with cartoon characters explaining the “ally journey” which shows a spectrum of becoming an ally for the pride thing.
So coexisting is no longer acceptable. We have to hold their hands like when we walk a 4 year old across the street.
I can’t handle this. Retirement can’t come soon enough.

You go to work to earn a living by contributing your talent doing something productive. That is all you should have to deal with at work. You don’t go there to be lectured about other peoples sex lives and your presumed bias against them. How deeply offensive.

Libs would never believe this story I'm sure. Sold our old refrigerator today. Gals name was Jen. Jen and her partner showed up in their pickup truck to get the refrigerator. We had a great conversation, got the refrigerator loaded up on the pickup truck, strapped in and sent them on their way. Jen works in a warehouse in logistics and her partner is the stay at home mom. It would not pay her to work, child care would eat up her income. They don't know my leanings, nor did they care. They were excited to get the refrigerator. Like I said, Libs would probably be very surprised that could happen.

As I've said before I work with Trans male transitioning to female. We get along great, talk about stuff, cars, etc. She does her job and is nice to me, and I am nice and respectful to her. No problems, yet the Useful Idiot Democrat Apparachiks and SS wannabees would never acknowledge that.

Lord help us. These people simply do not grasp the fact that their extremism is backfiring, and reversing the progress that has been made getting the public to accept gays and transgenders. Back when I worked in the 1980s there was a MtF transgender contractor. This person worked on projects for a wide range of industries and interacted with a lot of different people. I worked with her both at power plants (full of blue collar rural conservatives) and schools (full of liberals). I am not aware of any time she was overtly discriminated against, and everyone called her "she" even though it was quite obvious "she" still had a lot of masculine features. There was some snickering behind her back but overall she was accepted and was quite successful with her business. She was good at what she did and never EVER used her trans status to preach, throw it up in anyone's face, try to shame people, etc. She was business like and friendly and her gender/sex status was never discussed in the course of business. One night I ran into her in a gay bar, even then, we only talked about work, probably after something like, "Oh, fancy meeting you here, ha ha!"
This is exactly what normal mentally healthy - other than their gender dysphoria - transgenders want: simply to be accepted and function in society, NOT to have their trans status front and center as the most important thing about them and always shoving it in everybody's faces. The most important thing about her was her knowledge, experience and skill in her field. Everyone accepted her as female or if they didn't, they pretended to out of politeness, and that was that. You get on with the job.
You don't see it in the news but I'm guessing most true transgenders still feel that way. They want to function as the opposite gender and get on with life. Note "opposite" implies there are only two genders. I don't know what the hell a non-binary person is. I never met one in my life. I suspect such a thing doesn't exist, other than cases of chromosomal abnormalities. I suspect it is a pseudo-disorder born out of woke extremism.
It seems to me someone like this person has other mental problems besides gender dysphoria. The biggest most obvious is lack of self identity. There's no such thing as a non-binary gender, but there is such a thing as people with such a damaged sense of self they have no clue who or what they are. This is a major feature of borderline personality disorder. There seems to be narcissism there also. The expectation that all of society learn new pronouns and radically change language and culture to conform to a tiny minority of people who are deeply uncertain of who they are just piles grandiosity on top of a core instability, as well as complete lack of empathy for what you're asking of other people.
These people are seriously sick. I'm not talking about true transgenders like that contractor. There's a big difference here.

Yes, because it could compromise you.
There has to be some kind of social convention, agreed upon by the majority of the population, regulating behavior, and that convention needs to be upheld, especially for people in positions of power and trust such as government officials. The most outlandish behaviors, especially of a sexual nature, should remain discreet, if for no other reason to keep them away from the eyes and ears of children. But also because society benefits from overt moral structure, even if individuals break those morals and conventions behind closed doors.
Are we coming to the point where all perversions and kinks are now openly normalized, so much so that it’s no longer an issue getting a security clearance? Apparently the Biden administration thinks so, if putting this doggie handler in charge of national nuclear waste is any indication.
