You did not say what we did in order to fly a plane.

Rush,

I want to see Becky's and your answer.

Just in the air flying a plane.  Can be IFR if you like or the more interesting aspects of flying.  Or sitting at home listening to your wife yammer.  In general overall, which keeps your interest and focus better?

Can't answer.  No wife.

You can use any of your past wives.

Rush,

I want to see Becky's and your answer.

Oh no.  It doesn’t work that way.

LOL!  No, the answers won’t be shared with your wives, unless they read this forum.

This is a totally bizarre thread on Tapatalk. This is what it looks like:(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20221123/e5b132d5f0a78551db1d875c32c57063.jpg)

Not even close. With them? Flying the plane. I know this will get me in trouble but I don't care.   ;D

If it's any consolation, I like and do listen to current GF more.

If it helps, you won’t get in trouble with me for choosing flying the plane.  I can’t speak for Becky but I’m guessing the same there.  I don’t know if there are any other females here.

I’ll go ahead and state that I’d actually prefer my husband to prefer flying the plane.  For safety, I want him to find it very interesting, whereas most of my blabbing at him isn’t a matter of life or death if he doesn’t focus on me.  There, I’ve spoiled it.  The right answer is flying a plane.  But I want honest answers so forget I said that.

Like most questions, the answer is: It depends.  Sweet nothings followed by "lets go to bed" and pillow talk I can listen to all day.  Hearing the story about someone at work going on and on about her kids... nope.  Flying on a clear sunny day with nowhere to go... YEAH.  Trying to get somewhere through moderate turbulence and dropping visibility and a full bladder... nope.  So, it depends.

Aren’t I mean to not include that option.  Those personality tests that ask yes or no questions give me that problem real bad because it’s always it depends.

True or false:

“I am an organized person.”

In what context?  I am extremely organized in keeping financial records.  My sock drawer is a mess.  I can’t answer that question.

“I am very sociable.”

One on one, YES.  I love to get to know a person I find interesting.   Small talk at a party?  Hate it.  I am an introvert but I do need human interaction.  How am I supposed to answer that?

But for the poll question, I mean for it to be random daily stuff, not the kind of talk that leads to the bedroom.

Like those lawyer shows: Answer only yes or no!  I'd do terribly at that.  Is there a tiny tiny little bitty chance that the answer is no?  Or maybe 55% no?  Or it would be misleading if I said no because your context is not my context.  Is it possible that x could have done y?  Answer yes or no!! Well, yes, it's theoretically possible that I can flap my arms and fly to the moon.  (Yes, it really is possible.  Vanishingly unlikely, but possible.)  ARG!

But yes, flying.

You sound like you think just like I do.  I take questions very literally.  I just went through this with all the pre op interrogations.  Do you have chest pain?  The answer they want is “no” because they’re looking for cardiac issues.   But, yes, I do have chest pain but it is esophageal spasm because I have GERD and I know this because I’ve had a diagnostic endoscopy as well as a full cardiac work up to rule out heart disease.

“Are you allergic to medical tape?”   I get a rash sometimes when I buy the extra strong generic brand bandaids that have toxic glue made in China, but most other bandaids don’t bother me and I can’t recall any issues with any tape medical professionals have put on me.

In both cases they would have preferred simply “no”.  But I’m incapable of giving them that.

I’m not a guy, but nothing is more interesting to me than my husband. I’ll put down anything I’m reading if he comes into the room and wants to talk. I love listening to his voice and knowing what he is thinking.

I have interests and friends and activities, but one of the reasons I married my husband is that I never grow tired of listening to him. He doesn’t talk overmuch but what he says often is succinct and profound, with unexpected humor occasionally.

I wish he felt the same about me, and he has said he finds me interesting, but I do think he finds flying more compelling.

I want the surgery, I've been cleared by my primary care physician, and I'm good to go.  Yeah, they have to ask those questions so I just give them the answers they want.  But if it's something really "important" I ask more about the question.  Or I say no, but qualify it.  It's such a burden being so smart.  Like everyone else here.  (almost)

Hahahaha!  Yep.  They did say their concern was heart and lung issues, related to surviving general anesthesia.  I have no heart or lung issue.  The bandage allergy is probably worry about latex allergy more than anything, where you can have an anaphylaxis reaction.  They don’t care that I get a little rash with some cheap Chinese bandaids.  None of the dressings they used caused any reaction at all.

Of course when I'm under a lot of stress I turn into a smart ass.  Do you have a problem with latex?  Then I make a condom joke.  My wife then gives me "that look".

I was recently interviewed by a nurse.  "Are you vaccinated??" She asked.  I thought for a minute and then

I said, "Against what?"

She cleared that up with, "Covid."

I replied, "Three Pfizers."

With that clarity, I didn't tell her about my recent flu shot, tetanus shot, or shingles shot.

Hahahaha!  I would have said, “Yes, polio, smallpox, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, shingles, and those are the only important ones I can remember.”  She would have said “I meant Covid” and I probably would have said, “Well technically I’m not sure that’s a vaccine, it doesn’t seem to work very well.”
