Title: Why not just write a check?
Post by: Little Joe on June 24, 2019, 08:10:16 AM
George Soros and 19 other billionaires have written a letter to 2020 presidential candidates asking the to "please tax us".

I have a better, easier idea;  Why don't they just write a check for about 30% of their net worth to the government.  They could even stipulate what it is to be used for, or not used for.  Soros has a net worth of $8B (after donating $18B to his own charity).  He could donate a couple $billion and still be a multi-billionaire.

That’s just a way for them to push their ecoterrorist agenda (aka MMGW). Notice all the things they suggest this money be spent on are socialist programs and government led greenism. In other words, suggesting ever more transfer of wealth from private hands to government so government can “solve” all these problems (aka gain power over people by being a nanny state).

After turning over this wealth they will pull strings to have it used for these things, which means they will have the force and power of government. This is why they don’t just write a check. If they did that it would be private free market and lack the power of guns to force the public to accept it.

It’s a big power grab cloaked in the guise of virtue signaling. These people think they have the right to decide how the rest of us live. Condescending words about the middle and low classes, when their socialist and green programs will drive those groups deep into poverty. They don’t give fuck about middle and low classes, they believe they have a godlike right to tamper and manipulate the world. Disgusting.

^^^^^What Rush said.  In addition, Soros, Bloomberg, and others fund huge PAC's, and groups like Move On.org, Mom's Demand Action, Every town for Gun Safety, and many, many others as fronts for his influence in politics and Media.

This is typical Progressive hypocrisy disguised as virtue signaling altruism.

Once a wealth tax scheme is implemented, the level of “wealth” subject to the tax will change as fast as the weather in Wisconsin.

In my career the estate tax exemption (also a wealth tax) has varied from $600k to $5mm.  It becomes the playground of virtue signaling politicians.
