Title: New UPS delivery feature - Live map
Post by: President-Elect Bob Noel on April 16, 2020, 06:05:03 AM
I'm expecting a UPS delivery (a couple of 96%-inletted stocks).  Apparently UPS has a new feature where you can see where the delivery truck is.

I think it's a bit (no pun) much to provide that much information to the customer, but I suppose it doesn't really cost UPS anything but a small amount of bandwidth.

With people ordering so much on line these days, I think it's a good feature.  People want their stuff and want to know where it is and when they are going to get it!  I ship and receive via USPS Priority Mail off and on, and they ill text me updates and a delivery notification which is nice.

Ah, the app is broke!

My driver was making a delivery at the Asian Garden Massage parlor, and his truck hasn't moved in almost an hour.  Must be a computer glitch...........

Amazon has done this for quite awhile.

Amazon has done this for quite awhile.

Show you how often I use Amazon.

I used Amazon once.  Less than an hour after I placed the order, the email account I used started to get multiple spams.  It was a throwaway email account that hadn't been used for anything but this amazon order.  So I deleted the email account and will never ever use amazon again.

Recently I have begun seeing a bunch of pop-up ads for things that I mentioned in the subject line of my yahoo mail.  I wouldn't bet on it being Amazon causing the spam, although I wouldn't bet against it either.  Its probably a better bet that it is your browser that is snooping on you.  That's  why I try to use the duck.

As for an app to tell you where your delivery is, I use that to try to be sure to get my packages off the porch before the porch pirates do.
