Title: Are you neurodivergent?
Post by: Rush on August 29, 2022, 11:43:32 AM
I got curious about the difference between autism and aspberger’s and googled it.  The results talk about the “neurotypical” (presumably people like you and me) and the “neurodivergent” (someone with one of these disorders).

What the hell was wrong with the words “normal” and “abnormal”?  Don’t they mean exactly the same thing?  As “typical” and “divergent”, not each other.  I realized that last sentence could be read wrong.

conations are bad... and must be avoided, otherwise people will feel bad.

Remember, to paragraph Max:  bad people feel pain too.

So normal and abnormal makes people feel bad but typical and divergent don’t.  You can be sure they will in the future and they’ll have to keep making up new terms.

don't forget that some people are on a "celebrate diversity" kick, so "divergent" will probably get glorified.

mmmmm, and typical will be considered bad.

yup, can't win the game, can't get out of the game.

I always had a thing for Teri Garr, since I saw her as the ditzy secretary in the Star Trek episode "Assignment:  Earth" when I was a little kid.

Also staring Robert Lansing as Gary Seven, who I knew as General Savage in the TV series "Twelve O'clock High".

That’s how we got “equity” inserted in between Diversity and Inclusion. It was literally inserted in the dead of night, without discussion or debate.
