We had a gear up landing of a biz jet this morning at the regional airport we can see from our house. We didn’t see the event but saw the smoke, plane and emergency vehicles. Plane is still there. I wonder if they have to wait for NTSB to investigate before moving it?
Ten people on board, all safe, thankfully.

That had to suck. Mechanical failure?
-
So far they’re not saying why the gear was not down. If the pilot knew they weren’t down, it seems he’d have called for foam or what all preparations are made for that. From what we saw it looked like an event and then a response, not a planned thing.
-
Ouch. That sounds like, forgot to put the gear down. Don’t biz jets have some kind of alarm or something if the gear isn’t down and you are in landing configuration?

That must have been terrifying. Glad they all escaped the fire!

Looks like more than a gear up landing.

Looks like more than a gear up landing.
Agreed.

Yep something else went wrong here.
