That there is funny. Could be kind of true. Remember what Fast Eddie suggested way back when? Trump may be colluding with the Clintons to get Hillary elected.

Trump is just promoting Trump.  Win or hopefully lose the election, he wins.

It's all about a brand for him, pure and simple.

So very true. How good is that brand? I can't think of any Trump branded anything that is worth a damn, an immediate success, or even all that popular. He's the Kim Kardashian of politics except I think she has been more popular and successful with her brands. I bet she has more money too.

I don't think Trump's ego would allow him to do that.

which would be more of an ego stroke?  being President or being the man who got the first woman elected President (or at least a corrupt doormant elected)

I wish these folks the very best of luck:
http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/07/04/republican-delegate-revolt-grows-in-effort-to-sidetrack-trump-nomination.html
Quote
A determined insurgency among some of the delegates to the Republican National Convention is growing, a last ditch effort to sidetrack the nomination of Donald Trump.

The efforts focus on fighting state laws and party rules that bind delegates from states with winner-take-all primaries on the first ballot at the upcoming national convention.

Don't think it will amount to much.  The GOP is now in bed with the Orange One; they want an orderly convention (I can't quite see why, a disorderly one is so much more watchable).  I think they'll quash this hard.  And noon knows how to quash like the Donald.

I think it unlikely as well, regardless of how desirable the result would be.

The DNC has done well this cycle.  Not often that they capture the nominations of BOTH major parties.

The fact that the two major parties can only run out these two simpletons for the nomination for President tells me how flawed (corrupt) both the primary system has become as well as how stupid the education cartel has become to cause the current generation of younger adults to be so dumb.

Really? You think it's the young folks that are supporting Trump? There are some to be sure, but there seems to be plenty of all ages supporting him including plenty of old farts. Same goes for Hillary. In the case of the GOP, there were lots of choices and sadly, this is what primary voters in the states that matter came up with. I blame them for this tragedy, although I do recognize that there may have been many left leaning folks that voted for Trump in the primaries just to ensure a Democrat win.

One recent study estimates that 12m of Trump's primary votes were from Democrats.

The young folks wanted Bernie.  I liked him, but I thought most of his ideas were utterly unworkable.  Say what you want about the Hildebeast, but I think she has a very firm grip on the possible.  That's more than I can say for either The Bern or the Donald.

That might be true.
But I'm not sure that what is possible for her is possible, or good for the rest of us.

She isn't going to build a wall, or break up the banks, or kill terrorists families, or ban Muslim immigration, or do any of the other looney things that have been proposed this election season.  Things will go on as they have.  Not entirely a bad thing, things could go far worse.

We deserve better than the corrupt doormat.

Some do, most don't.  I'm convinced that most people out there would be content to have someone tell them what to do, what to think, what to buy.  Making decisions and actually thinking is way too hard for most people.  Give them enough to survive plus just a little more so they can say that they are doing well and there you go.  Make sure that they don't see that anyone has more than they do and they are all content.  Oh, maybe show them people who have less so they can feel superior.  Rotate the poor up to content (and the dissident content down to poor to be uplifted later) and that proves the government is all mighty and benevolent.

We actually get the government we deserve.  Until we deserve better, that's what we'll always get.  We will deserve better by thinking and working hard.  Actually strive for better and we'll get it.  Until then, the sheep will be happy to be led to the slaughter.

I do.  And by recognizing the problem you seem to also.  Most of the people here deserve better as well.  But the fact that we are faced with the trash choices, that this trash is actually preferred by the voters in the primaries over those that I believe were WAY more qualified, indicates that most people "out there" deserve no better.

Those most fit to be leaders are too smart to be in politics.

He actually values the Trump brand name as worth over $5B when he claims he's worth $10B.   Personally win or lose, he will treat this as a win, anything to promote the brand and the Trump image is a win in his eyes.

Seriously - you honestly in your heart of hearts believe he will build a border wall that even by lower estimates will cost  $17,073,806,000 in materials alone, imagine the labor costs even using Mexicans or pols.

Seriously - ban Muslim immigration  - I have said it before, how do you propose he implements that, have newly arriving immigrates say the lords prayer or eat a bacon sandwich ?  There are white Muslims you know.

You know, I hear ya!    Why even have borders?   Maybe just big "welcome" signs and centers where as soon as they cross we can get them signed up for welfare and all of the free goodies they are coming for. And of course, get them registered to vote ASAP (Democrat).

And why waste time vetting these new immigrants?   Who cares about their background? Why should we care what disease they bring here?  I'm sure they ar all just hard working people who want to be a part of our society and blend in.

We should all just surrender to the utopian dream!

How so?   We keep hearing this from the left that we should live in a "borderless world".  Also people are branded "racist" if they suggest having illegal aliens come into this country legally.

He or she asked if you seriously believed Trump would build the wall or ban Muslims, and if so what the logistics of that would be. Your response, by way of sarcastic retort, railed against a borderless world that doesn't vet immigrants. Unfortunately, s/he did not assert desire for those things, making your post a classic straw man argument.
