I liked Tulsi when liking Tulsi wasn't cool.

I think you are mostly right in that the D party changed.  But I think Tulsi changed too.  I believe that as she saw the growing hypocrisy of the democratic party she re-evaluated some of her beliefs and discovered that she had been misled by what seemed like good intentions.  I think her re-evaluation awakened some of her sensibilities.

Just like a reformed smoker is among the most vehement of anti-smoking people, I think a reformed Democrat (or communist) can be the most solid conservative.  They have seen the enemy, and it is them (with apologies to Pogo).

That part wasn’t filmed.  She was inside the door, they flashed the IDs, she said “Hold on…” and went to get her phone.  That’s when she came back, intending to look at the IDs then and presumably get them on video.  Maybe she didn’t have her reading glasses on either.  So the FBI is claiming they can quick flash their IDs and if you have no chance to actually read what’s on them, that’s your problem.

I kind of see why the agents (if they were agents) wouldn’t want their names all over the internet. But sorry not sorry, that should come with harassing citizens over their free speech.  If it were actually a credible threat she made, get a warrant and arrest her. This business of “we just want to talk about what you posted” is intimidation to scare people into self-censoring.

And did you catch how they tried to get her to rat on her neighbors?

I agree.  I have a problem with medical insurance paying for it because that means we subsidize it, and don’t get me started with Medicare and Medicaid.  Insurance won’t pay for purely cosmetic elective surgeries and I consider this that.  There is no physical, medical reason to have transition surgery and in fact it often makes you far worse off medically.

The idea that it is necessary for mental health is based on a deep misunderstanding of gender dysphoria.  People used to think (and I was one of them) that making the physical genitalia match what your mind wants to be would cure your unhappiness, and in a few cases maybe it does, but there is growing evidence that it more often does not.  Not the least of reasons why is the fact that a trans penis is NOT a penis and a trans vagina is NOT a vagina. They do not look, function, or smell like the real thing. 

The best you can hope for is a cosmetic somewhat approximation superficially.  For that you trade away your natural hormones (ovaries and testicles removed), your body’s natural ability to keep the area clean and functioning, and very often the ability to orgasm or feel anything sexually down there.  If you’re an adult and you are fully informed of these realities and can pay for it yourself, go for it!  I’ll have no part in helping you.
