Pilot Zone / Re: New Pilot Forum

It simply amazes me.  Those who despise the heavy handed moderation of other boards come here and complain about the lack of moderation here.   Reminds me of the Californians moving east to get away from the radical liberal state only to bring those ideas with them and want them implemented into their new home state.  :o

For the life of me I can't understand why, if someone writes something you, or anyone disagrees with, simply skip it and move on.

I've previously stated the actual reasons the board hasn't grown.  By demanding (moderating?) that people refrain from expressing themselves in a certain manner will not increase board membership.

It seems to bother you when some express their ideology that disagrees with yours.  However, you've been booted out of PoA numerous times for engaging in political talk stating your beliefs.   So I'm really not sure what the balance is you are looking for.

This board has never moderated anyone (except for spammers).  No one has ever been asked to leave, no one has ever been banned.  I tend to think that's a pretty good track record.

Again, feel free to participate as much or as little as you desire.

Actually while I was repeatedly banned from POA, it really wasn’t for being political at least not in the strictest sense of the word. I made several posts that poked fun of various politicians on both sides of the aisle whenever they said or did something stupid.  I have also done the same when a celebrity or member of the media said or wrote something stupid.  I believe that if someone has somehow been given a bigger voice than the rest of us that the things they say should not be stupid. I have poked at Obama and the Clintons as much as Trump but it’s only Trump jokes that gets me labeled as being political and banned.  I find that odd.  Funny thing is that I do not claim to be either liberal or conservative or republican or Democrat on the whole but have beliefs from both sides.  That said, I predominantly have voted GOP in presidential elections.  My first election was 1976 and I voted for Carter, the dem.  Every election since until 2016, I voted for the GOP candidates.  I almost didn’t vote for GW the second time as the Iraq war really was a dumb move but I could not stomach Kerry.  I almost voted for Obama in 2008 as I can’t really stand Romney, though as of late he has shown a little character.  But I voted for him anyways. In 2016 we had two horrible choices in Trump and Clinton and neither got my vote as I decided to vote for Libertarian Gary Johnson.   I wish the Dems will nominate a more moderate person this time who has mass appeal as I would prefer not to see Trump re-elected. But if it makes people feel better to call me political, partisan, liberal, conservative, etc. because it fits their narrow view of the available choices, there really isn’t much that I can do.  So label me what you will.

Oh, I also got banned for bashing Tom D’s frequent idiotic advice and thoughts.  He’s a mod favorite over there and they seem to protect him and his fan boy.  Don’t know though if that makes me political as well.  I looked at it as providing better and more accurate answers to the subject at hand.

Anyways, I might hang around here and and I might not.  I doubt though if it will matter.  I’m probably not anymore popular here than I was on POA.

That’s more than I intended to post.  Sorry.

There are enough examples in museums. If the owner wants to fly one and it is airworthy, then they should fly it.

So who’s going to insure the election?  State Farm?

Oh, you meant ensure.   Carry on.

For some reason, he is held in high regards on POA.  But I guess if I believed all he writes, I’d have a high opinion of him as well.  I just can’t decide if he just makes everything up or is just a gross embellisher.

Guess she's got wood.

So she had to buy her own?

What was stupid about it?

It was a real poor attempt at sarcasm/satire.  I fully understand that she was trying to be funny but I think it was just stupid.   And it adds zero value to the discussion but only adds to the divisiveness.  Of course I do realize that many on here enjoy the divisiveness and like to see fuel added to the fire.  Personally I am sick of it.

I’m not sure how any of you can be so certain this was not someone on the right.  Both left and right have deranged folks on their side.  And to say that the right isn’t violent is simply not true.  Neo nazis, KKK, abortion clinic bombers, abortion provider killers, thugs who beat up gays, etc. are all examples of people on the right who are and have been violent.  Do they represent a mere fraction of folks on the right? Absolutely!  But it’s the same with the loonies on the left.

JohnH.

You suck!

I mean you must if you disagreed with me because I was most certainly correct in what I posted though for the life of me I don’t recall what I wrote but I just know I was right as I always am.

I got the hammer twice in two weeks.  A three day followed by a seven day.  What’s next?  30 days?  Lifetime?

You know the DNC has to be just beside themselves.  They want NOTHING to do with Hillary, and her Chardonnay induced, public rants.

She drank chardonnay.  She still drinks chardonnay.   She likes chardonnay.

This is not just as simple as classifying it as an internal Saudi issue, especially when they did it in another country. The issue is that it's hard to say that America is serious about advocating for democracy and free speech around the world and then turn a blind eye to what appears to be a brutal murder of a journalist because he spoke out against his government. Let's also not forget that he was an American green card holder.

As to it happening in another country, that is the concern of that country, in this case Turkey. Still not our problem or concern.  If the Turks want to pursue action, that’s up to them.

As to the fact he was a reporter speaking out against HIS government, I don’t give a fuck.  Still does not concern me and if you weigh his death against the deaths of reporters and dissidents around the world especially in more powerful countries such as China and Russia, it becomes laughable that people are so concerned with what the Saudis did.  Maybe we should take action against China and Russia then. LOL!!

As to his resident status in the US, also not an issue.  Well except for the fact that he probably should never of even had that status due to his ties with bin laden and the muslim brotherhood.

So it is simply not our problem.

Actually, they all kowtow to Saudi oil and money.

Watch.  If Trump takes serious action, liberals will complain that we are not the world police and shouldn't involve ourselves in their business.  Just like they always use the excuse "you wouldn't want them meddling in our internal affairs, would you?"

But if he does nothing, they will call him week and subservient to them.  He won't escape no matter what he does.  So he will do what he thinks is best for America.  If that involves turning a blind eye to preserve a huge weapons sale that will benefit American industry and help strengthen their support against Iran,  then so be it.

Well, he/we shouldn’t do anything.  It isn’t our business. We are not or should not be the world policeman.  Presidents of both parties have meddled far too much in the affairs of other countries.  In the process they have spent trillions of dollars, created more enemies for the US, and actually done more to destabilize the world than stabilize it.  While I do not advocate complete isolationism, I do think we need to stay home more and keep our guns holstered.

They had a bit of a backlash with the beer thread closure. Lots of new threads implying beer popped up.

A lot of fun was had on the beer threads but the mods were not amused even though the puns were flowing both ways and good naturedly so.
