I spent some quality time in my youth in and all around the PI, and found most of the people there to be very engaging and warm. Sad to see the disasters so close to Christmas. The PI is predominantly Christian, however there is a large population of muslims in the south islands, including Mindanao.
Having some real struggles this year.

I could see the humor in your post, but I do agree it may have been just a tad too soon.
Perhaps you can repost it the day after tomorrow (Dec 26).
