I am not looking for James Caan in Rollerball here, but football is a specific sport defined by specific action, remove that and it eventually becomes chess played with 300 lb self-propelled pieces where the most exciting thing to talk about is the oomgawa black powa racist half time show.

Doubtful. On the other hand, they're now looking to have games in China by 2018. Can you imagine NFL players on any plane for that long?

I actually watched less NFL football last year than any year I recall, and it was precisely due to the continued pansification of the game.I watch less football now, but it is not because it is less violent. I watch less because of all the damn idiotic penalties. My least favorite is "excessive jubilation", or whatever they call it.
