I think the recent 180 degree reversal on border walls, the radical embrace of literal infanticide, the push for outright socialism in the “Green New Deal,” the desire to raise taxes, the desire to stifle political speech, and now giving reparations to immigrants all lead to identity politics and vote buying.

Keep in mind, the progressives don't give a shit about any of those things. They simply want votes and power. The "dreamers" are a perfect example, as long as they had them voting in their camp they feigned support, but once they realized the dreamers were supporting conservatives, the progressives moved on.
If the progressives believed and thought getting a big voting block would entail exterminating a segment of our population, they would be all in.
This further proves the actual base of the progressives is none other than the communist.
