http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2018/01/22/california-democrats-want-some-businesses-to-fork-over-half-tax-cut-savings-to-state.html
Calling the Trump administration’s tax reform plan a “middle-class tax increase,” two California lawmakers introduced a bill that would force large companies to fork over half of their expected savings to the state.
Assemblymen Kevin McCarty and Phil Ting, both Democrats, introduced Assembly Constitutional Amendment 22, which calls for a 10 percent surcharge on companies with a net earnings over $1 million. The plan could potentially raise billions for the state's social services programs.
I should be shocked, but I just know too much. When the socialists run out of money the first thing they do is look for ways to take more from the people. Shameful.

Hey! You stole my thunder. I just opened a new thread on this too. 8)

But weren't we just told recently the federal government could learn a thing or two from California???

I thought the tax cut was a pathetic, miserable, tiny amount of savings?
Why are the communists of cali-mexi-foni-ca so anxious to contradict their senile, senior, congresswoman?
Don't hey understand that their action will cancel any benefit (even such a pathetic one?) from tax cut?
I guess their faux budget surplus is more faux, than surplus...

CA has a real serious long term debt problem. While they are currently getting enough to fund operations, the 3 and 5 year projections look very bleak. There are a ton of unfunded obligations in CA govts, and the state has gone to the courts to try decreasing benefits, which supposed violates the state constitution. We'll see what the courts say, but if they are on the hook for all their future liabilities, the amount of taxes just won't stretch even close.

Then maybe the state needs to shut down and sell off their property to pay their bills.

But no - oh, no, no, no sir. Cutting back on deficit spending? Ha! Not only are the not cutting back, but they are expanding their profligacy. Recent news hot off the press.

Bullet train in CA billions over budget, spending more as we speak.

Democrats: Major Supporter of 19th Century Technology. Alexander Hamilton would be proud of the “Progressive” nature of the party.

Public Sector Unions, and the Democrat politicians in which they are in bed have ruined many cities, and state budgets. Unfunded salaries, benefits, and pensions exist everywhere. CA is among the worst, but many other states are right there. Many of these public employees are unnecessary, and just exist for patronage.

I saw an article the other day, I think on Fox, where they had someone monitoring the use of the new 'green' BMW electric cars by the LAPD. They spent millions on buying them for their 'green' benefit. The chief of the 'financial accountability' was recorded signing one out to go get her nails done, and then going back to the duty office. Other officers were taking them home, doing joy rides, etc. None of them were used for police work. I got a kick out of that. Very underutilized, and when they were used, only for personal transport.
