Got their panties in a wad over a youtube video I posted over blowing hogs up with tannerite.

I like the AR-10 recommendations in .308, but I'd also look at the .260 Remington and other 6.5mm cartridges actually designed for the AR Platform. Creedmoor, Grendel, etc. That's where I'd go.

Saw the video. That wasn't a good way to eliminate the hogs. Hunting isn't about cruelty. And that was wasn't cool hunting. Waaaaaaay too slow to finish off the hogs.
I know it may seem strange to want the kills to be quick, but that is what hunters are taught. It's not about not walking down the kill, it's more about not being cruel.

7lbs of Tannerite against 15 wild hogs... 9 dead, rest are deaf at a minimum. This is a suggestion to other forms of wild hog eradication. This is NOT hunting. If you don't understand the hog problem or don't have one, then this doesn't concern you. Educate yourself on the issue and control methods. We've tried traps which killed deer in the process, hunted at night which is legal and use of people with dogs. By far, baiting them in and Tannerite has been the cheapest most effective way of keeping their numbers low on this property. The state has even hired helicopter shooters on public land to help control all to very little progress. This is a tough problem and will take a combination of tough solutions. This video was posted to show real experience. Not inflated special effects with pigs flying in the air. The after shots are getting the runners outside the camera's view. Again, understand the issue and educate yourself.

Obviously I didn't look at the clip comments... I almost never do. Whenever I look at the clip intro, it's never been informative. This one was the exception to the "rule"
Even though my sister* and BIL have a farm, they don't have varmints to that extent... I should have been more aware of it.
*my sister would freak at killing any varmints.... ANY.

In your defense the comment wasn’t in the PoA posting, you had to have gone to YouTube to see it. I wasn’t admonishing you, just reposting it. I did not know that either. It seemed cruel to me too, but I guess if one’s crops are being eaten up by an invasion of hogs and you get desperate, I guess I can see doing what you have to to protect your livelihood.
A worse thought is, Russians and Ukrainians are doing that to each other.
