Title: Observations on NBC's Democrat Debate
Post by: nddons on January 17, 2016, 07:41:05 PM
Oh.  My.  God.

The pandering is unfuckingbelievable.

And O'Malley apparently never heard of the Second Amendment before:  "I've never met a self-respecting dear hunter that needed an AR-15 to down a deer."

And the ignorant Democratic faithful will eat it up.

Thanks for taking one for the team - you could not pay me to watch that debate, shy of offering me a zero-timed 420hp M-14PF to swap onto the Yak, since if 360 hp is good, 420 hp is better.

Sanders:  "I think it should be a federal crime if people act as strawmen."

You just can't make this shit up.

I didn't watch it.  I know what they are going to say.  Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz (another NY carpetbagger) send me their talking points.

I'll bet lunch that while governor of the People's Republic, O'Malley's State Police security force had AR15's in the trunks of their Statey cars.

No she, and others like her pay a team of tax attorneys to shelter income and wealth from taxes by setting up "charitable" foundations.  When she means "wealthy" she means thoughs that make over $30K a year.

Would be great to do a Mystery Science Theater 3000 style running commentary for a debate like that, with a running tally on new spending and taxes each time they suggest a program or a tax, with the cha-ching sound effect.  Could also point out an existing right or tradition they want to axe with appropriate sound effect.

Would probably require a bigger production staff than an NFL playoff game but sure would be fun.

Hillary Clinton actually said:

"No bank should be too big to fail,
and no persons should be too big to jail".

I wonder where she intends to serve her time?

Bernie Sanders describes himself as a Democratic Socialist.  Isn't that an oxymoron?  We are a Representative Republic with Democratic tendencies, with capitalism based on FREE COMMERCE.  Well, not really anymore, but stay with me.  How can you have socialism, which is FORCED and CONFISCATED wealth, and income redistribution based on what government wants, not what the individual wants?  How can both exist at the same time?  How come the media isn't calling Bernie out on this fact?

Might I suggest GITMO?  At least then she will be incarcerated with sleezeballs of similar character?

At least the terrorists are fighting for their religion and for what they believe is right and against what they believe is evil.
The Clinton's are fighting for the Clinton's and for what they believe is fame, fortune and power.

Medicare for all!!!!  Weeeee

So you are obviously happy as an individual to over pay for healthcare.

Insurance companies are ripping us all off and you are fine with that.  And before someone says the old "we have the best healthcare in the world" line, WE DONT.

Only people who feel good with the current healthcare system are those laughing at the amount of money they squeeze out of the rest of us

So you obviously are happy about the POS obamacare crap that doesn't address health care costs.

I assume that when you refer to the current system, you mean the system that was in effect prior to Obama Care.

That system had many problems that needed fixing.
But Obama Care is Worse.
And I feel that a Single Payer system would be even worse in some ways.  But Obama Care takes the worst parts of both systems, and adds extra regulatory problems to boot.

So what we need is a bipartisan effort to come up with something better.
Obama Care was a one sided political ploy designed to gain votes from ignorant people.  It had nothing to do with improving service or reducing costs.  Logical and helpful ideas put forth by the Republicans were stonewalled.

The real fix has to do with improving the economy so that people can afford health care instead of requiring that health care be given to them for free.  And Obama Care is an economy-wrecker.

As is, our government rewards poverty and penalizes production.

You nailed it John.  They want to control us through health care and other forms of dependency.  Prosperity makes us LESS DEPENDENT ON GOVERNMENT.  That is why they don't want that.

Ah, a Bernie Sanders fan. And you say you're a moderate?  Let me guess. Healthcare is a "right" and should be free for all?  That 1% should be able to pay everyone's healthcare costs, right?

Or are you just a lost Obama soul, still waiting for your health insurance costs to go down $2,500?  Well then, Hillary is your gal, since she wants to keep Obamacare in place. I'm sure that $2,500 savings will be in your bank account shortly.

What I find amazing is that anyone thinks that if government takes over the provision of healthcare, they won't get "ripped off."

But hey, if you think you're getting ripped off, then just buy a catastrophic health care plan, and manage your non-catastrophic healthcare costs yourself.  Oh, wait. You're prohibited by law from having that kind of plan any more because FedGov knows best.

Just wait until FedGov gets into rationing of healthcare. Then tell me what "ripped off" really means.
