Title: Rushie
Post by: Little Joe on October 29, 2018, 11:24:48 AM
That evil bitch got her thread locked over on POA😉

This one I really can’t understand.

Weird.

Nothing political, nothing religious, no personal attacks.

Guess now they're locking threads based upon personal dislikes.

Maybe if they don't like what they see here, there is retribution.  :)

The thread mentions tobacco. Kids might read it. Therefore, locked.

NO CLUE.   I might have missed something if they deleted a post, I've been away from keyboard for a while. They haven't sent me any message about it.

I'm recommending a semi-permanent partial ban and subsequent flogging for each of you, for posting in contravention of rule 52B, subsection Q, line 234, which forbids discussion of thread locks or bans whether on this forum or others.

Well, I'm not on that website, but for once I clicked the link because it seems most people here are rejects from that site. As I know none of the background, and none of the foreground, I would say we have a fifth-columnist in our midst, and there is some monitoring of our posts here, for content which paints the mod or mods, or admins in a bad light. And they will take any microscopic slight by a member here as a reason to ban.

Sadly, I clicked on 'recent posts' and found a rather horrific story about someone being turned in to FAA for a social media comment. What a sad fucking state of affairs.

Anyone here want to turn me in here's your ammo: I hate the FAA with a white hot passion. I think they are mostly a bunch of useless mouths, sucking at the federal teat, and don't give a wet dribbly shit for 'safety' or helping pilots or plane owners. I also think the US in the means of the FBI/CIA/NSA/BATF and a bunch of other agencies are way, way, way out of control with electronic media. And with other forms, but surely with electronic media. To the collective 'crats at the fedguv I say to you: Consume quantities of feces, become ill, sit in the corner, and die quietly.

I’ve suggested that.

They are so pathetically butthurt over there that I wouldn’t hesitate to think they lurk over here to punish over there.

Ceraptainly they’ve played the stupid card often enough to make that a legitimate possibility.

I thought someone had mentioned that before, and I was only half kidding.  However, I would think that would be unethical.

I have found that on the internet, ethics is rather situational. I know I've engaged in sliding ethics from time to time, but some folks are even more situational about their ethics than I am.

Wow, and here I thought I was getting threads locked and getting banned for ridiculously pathetically lame reasons.

Unless someone went off the deep end and posted pictures of boobs or worse yet wooden dicks, I can't see why it should have been locked.

Do you honestly think the people who ban you for saying merry Christmas give a fling **** about ethics?
That level of bigotry is only acceptable to the lame, brainless, left and the imbecile squad moderators at POA fit the bill perfectly.

Well I dasn't start a thread asking why the thread was locked because they'll ban me for talking about locking or banning.  And I have no idea who to message to ask about it or if I even care.

There is nothing in their published Rules of Conduct that mentions the word "lock". In fact thread locking isn't even mentioned anywhere on their RoC page.

So I posted a thread asking for clarification: https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/thread-lock-reason.114691/ (https://www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/thread-lock-reason.114691/)

It is sort of funny though how so many on POA are so wrapped up in that story.   All of Bryan's fanboys anxiously awaiting the outcome.   Then there's all of the shit house lawyers who think they know the best way to handle the situation.  It's a weird combination of hilarious and sickening.

Utter douche-baggery to notify the FAA about a social media post, except in cases of severe clear cases of unhinged direct threats(which I will not offer).

True. But the first time I had two posts deleted by PoA mods was back in 2012. They did it without explanation or warning. If I had not been paying attention I would not have known the posts had vanished. After I contacted Jesse about it he said they were going to tell me but they just hadn't gotten to it. That seems odd. The posts were deleted immediately but it took some time for them to compose a reason/rationalization (Jesse had to check with the rest of the council members before he could explain the nature of the transgression - I still have the dialog with him in my PoA private messages.)

I see that the PoA RoC has grown quite large. And they've had to systematize a long elaborate point system, which to me is evidence of moderation gone off the rails.

8 minutes worth of pleasure for anyone under 35. The woman who does the female part does an amazing job riffing off Meatloaf. I met him once when recording promo tracks. Very nice guy, but always has the knob turned up to 11. Manic, without the depressive that goes with it. The 'loaf could bring it.

Don't they remind you of the cast of The Rocky Horror Picture Show?

It's not by accident. Meatloaf had a small part in that film. The female 'singer' is not the one singing on that video, but she is acting the part of his enamorata. The vocals were sung by someone else but she does the best lip-sync in the world on that video. I believe she also had a bit part in Rocky Horror.

I've heard the song a million times but never saw the performance. That is amazing.  It sums up the entire homo sapiens reproductive dance. The best part is it leaves to the imagination how they got from that night to being a trapped married couple.

Interesting. I agree that they are moderating that site to excess of anything reasonable. In the present case though, I don't see any reason to think it was anything other than an accidental button press. At least they unlocked it, and didn't try to come up with some strained explanation for why.
