I’m trying to figure out what RINOs I can primary out and I’m looking at Railroad Commissioner which is all about oil and gas, basically the entire Texas economy, so pretty important. And I know nothing about any of them. Come to find out one of the guys on the ballot, Marvin Summers, died in a car crash just two weeks ago. Too late to get taken off the ballot. Poor guy. His wife died of covid just a year ago, I guess he’s joined her now.
Anyhoo, so many down ballots and propositions to research. Anyone have any recommendations about any of these guys?
I’m leaning to Tipton for RR Commissioner because he’s not wearing a tie.

I might go with Tim Westley for Land Commissioner. Because the first thing on his list of issues is “finish the wall”.

Hmmmmm. Mark Goloby for Comptroller of Public Accounts also not wearing a tie.

Agree in principle but depends on the position. If they campaign on issues that they don’t have power over in their job it won’t matter.

Tipton says posing semi-nude on top of an oil pump isn’t what he would do. I sure hope not. See attachment. But he’s worked his way up from the bottom actually working on oil rigs and has lots of actual engineering experience whereas Stogner is a lawyer. Tipton’s top priority is keeping Texas oil and gas industry healthy where Stogners is “the environment”.

As an engineer is he normal enough to work well with others? We don't have positions like this in Ohio, or if we do, I've never seen it on the ballot yet.

Probably not. He likely has Chronic Engineering Personality Disorder. (Credit to Half Fast on the PoA board for where I got that term.)
