Title: Cuba
Post by: EppyGA - White Christian Domestic Terrorist on July 11, 2021, 06:27:53 PM
In case you are not aware the Cubans are protesting in the streets, waving American flags and wanting their freedom. At 9:25 PM EDT I have checked ABCNews, CBSNews, NBCNews, CNN and MSNBC and only NBC and CNN even mention the story and you have to look pretty hard for it.

I don't follow any Democrats on Social Media so I don't know where they stand. Republicans I follow are coming out in favor of the Cuban citizens.

Can't imagine "the squad" can like this.

It would be wonderful to see communism fall in Cuba.

The DCP heads will be exploding.

Wow. I haven’t heard about that. Here in the U.S., waving American flags and demanding freedom is enough to have you declared a domestic terrorist by the Democrats, so I can’t imagine they’d support them, just like they didn’t support the ones doing that in Hong Kong.

The best thing that can happen in America is for the Supreme Court to remove president asterisk, reinstall the real president, PRESIDENT TRUMP and defund the NSA, FBI and DOJ.
Start all over again, with new people and fire the entire top staff at CIA to remind those fuck-nozzles that they do not meddle in US politcis to install their chosen leaders.

Shit for brains steingar will be along to remind us that the dictatorship in cuba is 'legal' and we should butt out, unless a democratic government is installed, and then the US military should be used to force them out and reinstall his idols the commies.

Google news currently (~8:40 PM MT) shows top ranked coverage of the Cuban protests by Washington Post, Fox news, Yahoo news, New York Times, Miami Herald, CNN, Wall Street Journal, etc.

According to Fox, https://www.foxnews.com/media/ny-times-ripped-equating-freedom-anti-government-slogan (https://www.foxnews.com/media/ny-times-ripped-equating-freedom-anti-government-slogan), the New York Times had an “interesting” take the protests:

Quote
The New York Times faced backlash on Sunday for its framing of recent spontaneous protests occurring in Cuba against the communist government.

"Shouting ‘Freedom’ and other anti-government slogans, hundreds of Cubans took to the streets in cities around the country on Sunday to protest food and medicine shortages, in a remarkable eruption of discontent not seen in nearly 30 years," the New York Times tweeted.

Thousands of protestors gathered in Havana and towns across the country to protest various government shortcomings including food shortages, medicine shortages, rising prices, and pandemic restrictions. Although many protestors attempted to film the march, Cuban authorities eventually shut down internet service within the area.

Some on Twitter users called out the New York Times tweet for equating "freedom" as an "anti-government slogan."

Dan Gainor of the Media Research Center tweeted "Only New York Times commies think ‘freedom’ is an ‘anti-government slogan.’"

Insider columnist Anthony L. Fisher wrote "‘Anti-government’ Is the word ‘dictatorship’ too strong or something? Gotta hear both sides?"

Townhall.com’s Gabriella Hoffman tweeted "Freedom is dangerous? To totalitarians including communists, it should be. The spirit of Walter Duranty lives on at the NYT."

Various politicians on both sides of the aisle have spoken out in favor of the Cuban demonstrators. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in particular called out the media for their initial reluctance to provide extensive coverage on the event.

"Attention US media In #Cuba they are rising up because socialism is a [sic] always disaster Are you going to report on this so the world can hear their voices?" Rubio tweeted.

Rubio has also called on President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken to speak out against Cuba’s retaliation against its own citizens.

Oddly, I technically agree with the NYT and disagree with the people calling it out: protesting for freedom is indeed anti-government. Not too many scenarios where protesting for freedom is also pro-government.

in countries like Cuba, protesting for freedom would most definitely be the epitome of anti-government.

In the USA, protesting for freedom *should* be pro-government.

Technically I agree, but, un-technically, I agree with the people calling it out. That is inflammatory language. “Anti-government” implies anarchists, which pro democracy protesters are not. It sounds as if the writer doesn’t understand the difference.

But it’s a tweet, not an article. So we don’t know who composed that sentence and perhaps it was abbreviated and they meant, “anti- Cuban government”, which would have been fine. But I doubt it. I’m thinking whatever kid sits there and composes tweets for the NYT doesn’t exactly have an unbiased balanced perspective. They’re no doubt a brainwashed leftist. But I’m open to be proven wrong, if the NYT wants to defend themselves. I won’t hold my breath.

Agree although I would say in America protesting for freedom is pro-constitution as opposed to pro- current government, which has grown into a massive cancer.

The Whitehouse has yet to release a statement, tells you all you need to know. Instead of reacting, they are figuring out how to spin it they way they want.

The handlers are making the little cue cards for demetia Joe to explain where and what a "Cuba" is.    The only question from Joe was "Do they have an ice cream shop there?"

There is a reason Cuban Americans tend to be Republican.

The Cuban American community is horrified watching the DCP and what is transpiring in the USA, they've seen this before.   The Cubans in Cuba are also horrified watching the DCP trying to destroy the US and bring in communism, as they know if it gets as bad in the US as it is in Cuba, Cuba will only get worse.

In addition, go talk to a Venezuelan who resides in the US.  They've been witness to this as well.

I have Cuban American friends, and others from various other parts of the Caribbean (Venezuala, Dom Rep, etc) and they are very afraid for this country.   They've lived in and seen it, and what's happening now is a repeat.

And they comment on how they can't believe so many are blindly falling for this garbage.

Admit it. The Onion is far more truthful than the communist party (democrats), or the imposter,  senile, pedophile, president asterisk, biden.

Biden's State Department: 'We Support The Cuban People As They Rise Up To Protest Georgia’s Voter ID Laws'

CUBA—The Biden administration has finally released a statement on the uprising in Cuba. According to officials, the Cuban people are really, really, mad about Georgia's voter ID laws and have taken to the streets to protest it.

"We are inspired by the Cuban people's courageous stand against the Republicans' evil voter suppression laws in Georgia," said WHA Assistant Secretary Julie Chung. "We share their righteous indignation, and encourage protestors to remain peaceful at all times."

Official state sources monitoring things on the ground said protestors are waving giant Stacy Abrams signs and chanting things like "LIBERTAD! LIBERTAD!"-- which roughly translates to mean "End the Republican party's evil voter ID

They deserve each other, and should make hunter biden attorney general.
He is certainly criminal enough.

Notice how communists (they call themselves democrats - what a laugh) are silent, or negative about Cubans seeking freedom from communism?

Democrats are stupid.

I'm sorry if your feelings get hurt, however...

if you are an actual democrat party member these days, you are really, really stupid.
