This shit is starting to piss me off. Went to go flying this morning and found out that our FBO has had no 100LL since Thursday. The gas is at the terminal but there are no hazmat qualified truck drivers to deliver it to the airport. Delivery is expected on Monday. Flying was my one escape from all the crazy out there. Now this. I'm getting pissed.

Look for avgas production to decrease. It’s a boutique fuel, and with other gas production scaling back, avgas will decrease, and get more expensive.
I still want to hear from our liberal pilots who were giddy about a FJB presidency. Enjoying what they voted into office?
-
And all the lead being spewed into the air. I'm sure that's why kids are stupider these days.
-
Friday I watched a recording of the head of the Surface Transportation Board meeting with a shipper’s association on May 25. This shit is getting real. There were no solutions. Just an admission that this is now a crisis. I think it’s going to get much worse.

All by design.

I wonder how bad Oshkosh will be affected, if at all? If people can't find avgas, or can't stomach paying $10+ gallon, or this being the big trip of the year make people not care?
-
I believe the end goal is to put us into 3rd world status.

I wonder how many avgas deliveries OSH gets during the week, and if the transport problem will be solved by then. I can just imagine how much avgas is burned during the T6 flyby. But you can count on the various rides (Ford, helicopter) will cost a lot more.

I would assume Basler is smart and pre-orders in bulk as soon as possible, whether that is a year or months out. Hopefully their supplier knows the event is easy money for them and makes the supply issue not so bad. It's the price might hurt them. It's the pilots finding avgas to get there might be a problem, also.

I plugged the keywords 'avgas shortage' into duckduckgo and it is clear that such shortages are hardly new.
This May 9 article indicated that Jet-A is being harder hit than Avgas:

Avgas by its nature has never been abundant. Not that many refineries produce it.
JetA is derived from kerosine, and in better times was plentiful.

All designed to tear down and rebuild in their Marxist (Fascist) wet dream. Elite (Royalty) vs US (Serfs).

Don't even try to make this look like anything previously. This is different because it's purposefull.

It's a problem because it now affects ME!

Depends on what purpose or goal is really intended.
I believe many of the economic problems are due to incompetence and plain ignorance of reality, not diabolical planning. If by "purposeful" you mean they planned to buy votes and power without immediate cost, then I guess we agree. But if you mean "purposeful" in that they intended to play havoc with the economy in pursuit of more power, I'd say the polls and their subsequent panic are evidence against that thesis.
-
History would disagree.
All one has to do is read and understand how previous regimes gained control, then take a look at what we are going through.

Jim, polls don’t matter anymore. Votes can be manufactured as needed. The “panic” of which you speak merely is their reaction to being exposed. And even that isn’t slowing them down, it’s speeding them up.

Yes, I think playing havoc with the economy is exactly their goal. You can't say you're going to destroy the Fossil Fuel industry and expect anything else. The world runs on it.

Let's review...
1992... GHW Bush was sailing through his first term and the communists (they call themselves democrats) cratered the economy, blamed Bush and cheated billy the cheater into the white house.
2007... bathouse barry. The communists cratered the economy, recovering after 9/11, toxic mortgages, Enron, et al...
Hmmm...
Pattern???
2020... does anyone need (really?) a primer on how the communists and other types of democrats cratered the country in pursuit of power.?
If you do need reminded, you're intentionally not paying a bit of attention.

I paid $6.40 for 100LL last week, and think I’m lucky. Here in suburban Wisconsin my local gas station bumped its price for 87 octane from $4.99 to $5.19.
Fuck Joe Biden.

I think $5.00 was a mental barrier some stations tried to avoid. Now that the market has jumped that, I don’t think an upper limit exists. Watch out.

The next barrier may be $10/gallon I don't know if the pumps can display numbers that large.

Back during Bathhouse Barry’s administration one of his lackeys made the comment he thought $10/gallon gas was necessary to get people to stop buying gas.
I’ll look for it.

Found it
https://dailycaller.com/2011/03/30/flashback-obamas-top-energy-aide-advocated-for-10-a-gallon-gas-prices/
As director of the Lawrence Berkley National Laboratory, Steven Chu, Obama’s secretary at the Department of Energy, said in an interview that gas taxes should slowly be increased over the next 15 years in order to force people to turn to alternative energy sources.
“Somehow, we have to figure out how to boost the price of gasoline to levels in Europe,” said Chu.
In Europe, the price for a gallon of gas consistently hovers around $10 a gallon.
This article is 10 years old. See any similarities to today?

The Democrats and many of the Leftist parties and governments, worldwide, but mainly in Europe or former Commonwealth countries, (Australia, Canada) are doing the same things to demonize and LIMIT the production and use of Fossil Fuels for the Man Made Climate Change excuse (LIE). They know MMCC is not an imminent nor even long term threat, or they are just brainwashed and stupid. However, they have enough support from the useful idiots to put these very destructive polices in place.
This is purposeful and the only thing that can wake up the Useful Idiots is extreme economic pain that directly affects their Standard of Living and quality of life. Then it will be TOO LATE. EV's don't work for 80% or more of the population. We also don't have the infrastructure nor generation capability. Alternative fuels like wind and solar don't work.
These People are IDIOTS.

Not gas but my coffee filters were just bumped from $12 to $14 per pack. It’s affecting everything.

That didn’t take a crystal ball. We all (those of us with a basic understanding of the economy) knew this would happen. Maybe not as fast and high as it is, but it was inevitable. And I think quite deliberate.
-
Local Exxon station went from $3.199 on Tuesday to $3.399 today, that doesn't include the $0.299 state tax we're not paying currently. We're up 122% since 1/18/2021

That's cheap. I'm paying $5.09 for 87 but that does include our onerous gas tax. ::)

Uber has added a "temporary fuel surcharge". Thanks all you idiots who didn't like mean tweets. I hope you're happy.

It helps to have a freshman level of understanding of economics 101, but common sense will do.

True, but the demand curve also shifted much farther and faster to the right due to the all wonderful government pumping 6 Trillion dollars into the economy. Yes, supply did have an effect. But massive demand driven by massive free money had a much larger effect on inflation.

True, but the democrats attribute demand to people starting to travel after Covid. The problem with their argument is in most parts of the country that freedom started in the fall of 2020, not 2021 or 2022. Dipshits.

They also blame Putin Anthem Ukraine war. But we all know the rising energy prices and hyper inflation started well before that due to Dem Administration policy and rhetoric.

If, as the faux president claims, he is not in any way to blame for high fuel prices, then his asshole-li-ness will not able to claim
any credit for when they go down.
When gas prices fall after faux president fuckwad is out of office, just like his commie master bathhouse barry soetoro, he and his paid liars,
will claim that gas prices were going down naturally and the new president had nothing to do with it.
fucking assholes and other types of democrats are always on both sides of their own arguments. Hypocisy is really all they have going for them.

I look for gas prices to start falling late summer.
Think midterms.

The left is about 3 decades out of date. We no longer have a looming fossil fuel crisis, nor is the planet destined to be destroyed by runaway human population growth. Quite the reverse. At the rate we are going we will NEVER run out of oil. Humans will go extinct first. If there is climate change we will adjust, just like all organisms have since the first slime became alive. The whole “greenie” panic is totally moot.

The lunatic left doesn’t care. Like everything else, this is just a vehicle to get them what they want, which is restricted travel for the peasant class.

3 decades? When it comes to their obsession with high speed rail or light rail, they are literally trying to solve some sort of “problem” using 19th century technology.
Fucking idiots.

I mean 3 decades ago we thought the population would continue to explode. Now it’s very obvious we are facing a collapse. Now, the likelihood is that nature will reclaim much of the planet because there won’t be many humans left.

Yes, supply did have an effect. But massive demand driven by massive free money had a much larger effect on inflation.
I saw with my own eyes a shift in the supply curve, but demand? I'm not seeing a shift in the demand curve. Prices have increased, but neither supply nor demand cause inflation as they do not inflate the money supply.
-

I think I get it. It's been a looooooong time since I did any economics. A shift to the left of supply or shift to the right of demand increases prices, but they do not cause inflation. I thought I saw a huge increase in demand (in, for example housing) but that might just be a function of decreased inventory.
-
“Rising prices” and “inflation” are two different things. The demand/supply shifts cause rising prices in real terms. This can occur with a fixed money supply.
Inflation is nominal increase in price due to injecting additional money into the economy not backed by a corresponding increase in actual goods and services. This causes higher prices at the same supply and demand point.
We are experiencing BOTH right now. A very, very bad situation.

AKA Hyperinflation then Stagflation which is coming.
