You heard me right.
Even though I am a Libertarian, why did I do it? A few reasons:
1) I need to be able to vote in next year's primaries. The Democrats will have Hillary, and the primary vote will hardly matter on that side.
2) I can still vote Libertarian in the general election.
3) As a Libertarian voting in the Republican Primaries, I can choose the candidate that best represents my Libertarian views (though there aren't many who seem truly Libertarian).
I feel good.

Congrats, I guess. Of course, you can vote for whomever you wish in the general. I still contend that a libertarian vote in the general is a vote for the democrat nominee.

I agree. But if Trump goes independent then it won't matter. It will be President Hillary.

I went the opposite direction and registered Independent. In North Carolina an Independent voter can vote in one or other primary.

I agree. I also worry about that if Trump becomes the nominee, given the relationship between his negatives vs positive ratings.
Note I am NOT endorsing one of the "establishment" candidates. But one of the other conservatives may be better in the general.

I hope Cruz starts getting more traction. I think he is, and is an anti establishment Republican.

Cruz is a brilliant man. I worry that he is too far-Right to get elected, though. In that case all Hillary would have to do is stop trying to out-Bernie herself, and she'd squeak by.

I think many want someone farther right than Bush, Romney, McCain, Dole, etc. but I just don't know if there are enough out there. If another moderate Repbulican wins the primary, I don't know how it will shake out either. This is a very tough one to call.

If I recall correctly, in 1980 the establishment did not want Regan, ans whined about his inability to win in the general.
The tendency of the elite GOP insiders is to put their power ahead of their oath.

You are correct. The establishment Republicans just want to grow government, and their own power just like the Democrats. They certainly don't want to rock the boat. This boat needs to be capsized!

It always is.
