“Dominantly male nomenclature“ is only a problem for people who can’t grasp the linguistic concept that the term “man” and all relating pronouns can refer to all humankind, as in “mankind”.
They want to use “drone” for unmanned aircraft? Why not just call them “unpeopled”?
Anyway, it will not “build a more inclusive aviation community” because calling an aircraft without a human pilot “unmanned” is hardly what puts women off wanting to be pilots. Maybe it’s more because they have way less testosterone and aren’t organically as adventurous. I guess we can’t have that, that would be admitting men and women are actually different from each other.
And who the hell has a problem with “cockpit”? How is that sexist? Other than having one’s mind in the gutter as to why it’s called that, which is isn’t. Unless you have a problem with cock fights (the kind using poultry) being amongst only male birds.

When I flew with an airline, had a scheduled flight to a city that another of our planes doing a charter from. The flight crew were both ladies and I knew the Capt well. They were taxing out as we taxied in. On company frequency I asked if they called it a cockpit, she replies negative, it’s a box office. Doubt we could get away with it in today’s nutty world. Someone would’ve been offended.
