CNN has corrected a Tuesday report after the release of former FBI Director James Comey's opening statement for his Thursday testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee contradicted the reports' sources.

The CNN report said Comey was expected to dispute President Trump's claims that Comey said he was not under investigation on multiple occasions.
The report, titled “Comey expected to refute Trump," was based on unnamed sources and said Comey's conversations with the president "were much more nuanced," and that Trump drew the wrong conclusion.

The story was complied by four CNN journalists, including Gloria Borger, Eric Lichtblau, Jake Tapper and Brian Rokus.

Borger reiterated the reports claims in an appearance on CNN Tuesday.

I'm reserving judgment whether it will be a net good or bad thing.  I see a lot of bad but also a lot of good, like me being able to ask the whole world any question on any subject on a little device I carry around in my pocket. The human race has definitely taken a big step that will change us deeply and who knows where it will lead.  I think there were only two things in our entire evolutionary history that had as great an impact:  learning to control fire, and learning agriculture and herding.  Coming in at fourth would be the printing press which brought information to the masses. But technology and the Internet beats that out and is in third place.  It's so new we have yet to see what the consequences, good and bad, will be. I agree it is changing how we interact socially, but I'm not sure exactly about the end result.

I'm not saying technology is bad, or has hurt society, but I see a coarsening of society, vulgarity, and less focus on how we treat each other.  I don't know if that is due to technology or not, but it may be playing a part.  I fear we are getting less "personal" with less ramifications for how we treat each other.

She seems like a typical, unfocused Millennial "American" kid who has been brainwashed by our school system, and media to be a Social Justice Warrior (subversive communist) above all else.

Well the Republicans were obstructionist too with Obama, but he had enough of a majority in both houses to at least ram Obamacare through.  However, the Republican obstructed:

Higher taxes
Higher energy costs for MMGW "fixes"
Open, non secure borders
selective enforcement of laws, especially immigration
more government intrusion
bigger, more costly government
higher deficits
more debt
anti Second Amendment legislation, and Executive Orders

The Democrats are obstructing just he opposite.
anti Second

Apparently those they contract with aren't the quality they used to be, as the up and coming generations are more and more brainwashed by our public schools, and less and less inclined to personal responsibility because they didn't work during their teen years like we used to, and they aren't grounded in a moral system, and just plain common manners seems to be disappearing. This is the pool from which the NSA must draw. I don't have a very high opinion of our youth these days, I'm sorry to say.

I have met some youth that have changed my mine in some ways.  However, many of them are Indian, or Asian, and a lot of their families have moved into my area to work in the IT, financial, pharmaceutical, and other technical industries in the region.  Many are hyper focused on engineering, math, and technology.  They really don't care much for history, and English, but the get all A's, in their core subjects.

There is not much journalism anymore.  What the media does now is create a story to promote their agenda.  Facts, and reality do not matter.

CNN had some stupid headline yesterday about how revealing the Comey testimony was, now I've noticed they've backed off.  Now they say Trump's problem is trust, not Comey.   ::)

I have more of a disconnect with the focus of young people now than with their life experiences.  I see them is face down in their I Phones totally enamored with whatever social media they are on.  I fear that their social skills are not developed, but I am occasionally surprised by some.  I think technology, and the influence of media has drastically changed younger people, and society, and not for the better.  What I see on network TV, the few times I flip through channels is disturbing, and I always wonder what my parent's would think, as they are gone now.  They would be utterly SHOCKED.

It is good to see such a secure intelligence gathering agency like the NSA vets contractors that they employ.   ::)  I was a contractor to a large Defense Contractor to the NSA, and had to go through a thorough background check, then had to get a Clearance.

Reality needs to get some reality.

Well now you are assuming, they could just go in and say I am from Mars and I just moved here.
Then our wonderful government signs them up for food stamps, never bothering to ask how they got here for proof of who they really are.

Proabably.  When I moved to Colorado, and had to get a CO Drivers License I witnessed a lot of questionable people getting DL's there.

They are not illegal, they are just undocumented.
Now that makes it all better right.

Well they have to have SOME documentation, or they couldn't get benefits.  So their documentation must be illegal.  Stolen identity, etc.

I know you are being facetious, btw.

How is saying a team should all speak the same language racist?  Because the assumed language would be English?  Is there an expectation that the rest of the team is supposed to learn Spanish instead of him learning English?  Isn't that a double standard?

See what contortions you have to go through to get this to be racist? The assumptions?  It basically means since this country is virtually completely an English speaking  nation, that means we're racist period.  Because English white people are evil compared to brown or Spanish or any other people on the planet.

That's the underlying sentiment.

It is just another way for the misguided, and self righteous, feel good media, and Democrats to keep us divided.  If they can create controversy they think they are winning the argument, and get ratings.

I read another article this morning that food stamp enrollment is down nationwide because illegals are fearing deportation.  Seems like a double bonus.

That's interesting.  I am all for a legitimate safety net for people who fall on hard times.  Sometime life gets the better of us.  I have relatives, and friends with good educations, and experience that got laid off, probably due to their age, and salary, and are now Uber drivers.  Sometimes reality can be harsh.

IIRC, and IF all of the participants in the fake Paris imitative lived up to their part of the bargain, which is truly delusional, then the sum total of all that wasted money and economic heartache MIGHT reduce the temperature .03% of one degree in 100 years.

None of the qualifiers would / could be depended upon as Iran, India and Russia will do what they have done since they signed on to the fake treaty - nothing.

The problem is that we could do EVERYTHING the alarmists want us to do, and the NATURAL cycle of the Earth, along with huge natural events like Volcanoes could wipe out any temperature reduction.  Plus, maybe we should be trying to stop warming.  Cooling may be the issue, and again mostly  and likely controlled by natural events.

So let's keep energy costs from getting out of control.  OK?

Pure evidence that we are not seeing a long term significant warming trend.  Between fudged numbers, dubious assumptions in "analyses", and the politicization of the issue, we are getting fleeced.

According to Forbes columnist Larry Bell,
So, has anyone stopped to ask . . . how much has the globe actually warmed?the ripple effect of global warming initiatives actually costs Americans $1.75 trillion . . . every year.

That's three times larger than the entire U.S. federal budget deficit.

Well, we asked, and what we found was striking.

According to NASA’s own data via Remote Sensing Systems(RSS), the world has warmed a mere .36 degrees Fahrenheit over the last 35 years (they started measuring the data in 1979).
