That episode is in my top three of STOS. I believe it was the first time an actor said "Hell" on network TV when Kirk says, "let's get the hell out of here", after Edith Keeler (a young Joan Collins) is killed.

One of my top favorites also. The moral and emotional dilemma Kirk faces and eventually has to resolve by going against his heart to do what’s necessary for the survival of their future world is story telling at its best. No clear cut right or wrong. The “right” thing being to allow the ultimate “good” person to die. This is so much better than the simplistic black/white watered down shit they’re putting out these days.

“It’s a Wunderbar Life” - A story of a troubled Adolf Hitler who is about to end his life in a Berlin bunker when he is visited by a guardian angel to show him what the world would be like if he had never been born.

One of my favorite authors is Harry Turtledove. He writes a lot of alternate history fiction. The South wins the Civil War, Germany wins WWI, etc. Fun reads with interesting twists with a lot of what ifs if history changed.

If you could go back in time why not just go to the evening Hitler was conceived and simply do something to delay the act a few seconds. Then you likely get a completely different person.
I think I will look up the film that Jim suggested.
The book “Hitler’s 30 days to power” is quite interesting. He just barely became the dictator.
Life and history are much more random in the details than we like to think about.
