I kind of see that is what Trump seems to be doing. He may be sniping a bit with his tweets(I don't have a twit acct, so don't really know), but actually he's kept busy. Just announced a bunch of bench appts, and taking his travel ban to SCOTUS, also doing his thing with the ME, and he's also working on cutting more regs. As well as his roll-out of the infrastructure update. Comey was a side-show Bob production put on by the libs. They got their face on the tube, along with the dog and pony. Trump didn't seem all that interested aside from some late night tweets.

On with the show!

The ONLY reason liberals, democrats and make believe moderates are 'concerned' about Donald Trump tweeting is because they can't filter and obstruct the message ahead of delivery.

Period.

Full stop.

He did confirm that he told Trump on three separate occasions that Trump himself was not under investigation.

What more is there to say?

Much of it is indeed political theater, but not all of it. Trump has kept this going by his tweeting as well, which isn't helping anything. There's a string of events that are concerning in this matter, whether it's illegal or not.

What is concerning to me is that this is just not "politics".  Republicans play games too, but they don't have the media to support lies, and made up calls for impeachment like the Democrats do.  This is willful subversion of a legitimate government to the detriment of our citizens.  Look what is happening in Europe.  We are more at risk now because the Dems won't support, and the Courts won't allow the temporary travel moratorium from a few selected countries.

Spin Zone / One of the secrets of being old
« on: June 08, 2017, 05:23:56 AM »
Do you remember when you were young and told an old person something and they had this stupid blank look on their face?  And you knew it was because they couldn't relate to what you just said and they were so stuck in the mud they would never be able to grasp the wild incredible thing you just told them about? So you just dropped the subject because they were so old fashioned they had no clue what you were about?

That happened to me a lot when I was young. Now I'm an old person and now I know what was really going on behind the face.  The stupid blank look is boredom because you have already been there done that and know more about it than the young person can possibly imagine and you are so over it.

I read another article this morning that food stamp enrollment is down nationwide because illegals are fearing deportation.  Seems like a double bonus.

Fair enough.  While not a comedian, Ted Nugent comes to mind as an entertainer who says some pretty out-of-there stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNLmi0_216g

All that being said, Ms Griffin's stunt was, IMHO, way out of line.
Ted Nugent is an NRA Board Member and 2nd Amendment Activist, which is inherently political. The difference between Uncle Ted and Griffin is that he takes full responsibility for what he says, doesn't pretend to be the victim, and accepts the consequences of his actions.

She does none of those.

Wait a minute. How can we trust the Elections Office? Texas' Secretary of State - the state's Chief Elections Officer - is appointed by the Governor. An un-elected official running the voter registration system? Sounds like a recipe for voters of a certain political affiliation to have their registration forms mysteriously misplaced. I actually don't think we can trust any government entity. I propose voter registration be removed from the purview of any governmental agency of any level, and instead be handled by private corporations and churches.  ::)

Oh absolutely.  We can't really trust anyone completely, but to involve additional unnecessary steps increases the risk.

Quote
Why don't you come up with details that would work?

Because unlike liberals, I don't go around creating solutions looking for problems.  The fact is that not being registered is not why people don't vote. So there is really no reason to do this, except for people who want to move responsibility away from the individual and to the Federal government. No matter the details, this will require the creation of yet another huge federal agency and that means increased cost to the taxpayer. The feds have no experience doing this; the states are the experts on voting. Let them work out the solutions to whatever problems currently exist.

which is to add a box to your tax returns which allows the IRS to share name and address information

Yes, that would be "links".

Suppose the individuals at the IRS did something which causes the information to not be shared and that non-sharing was heavily slanted toward one party?  I work in IT, I know it can be done and even with plausible deniability.  We have seen the IRS target one party for special treatment.  Putting a propensity to target a political party with a denial of voting rights together is chilling.

Even if we agreed to NOTHING, I think Trump should be part of a group to at least study and address the issue.
If by "nothing" you mean the Paris agreement, then that's not the case. If that's not what you meant, disregard.

As for Trump being part of the study, he can make adjustments to his budget but it's Congress that ultimately will pass the legislation thus determining the actual funding levels for the research. Trump did the right thing by pulling out seeing as how it didn't go through the Senate first.

CEOs of some major companies are upset about the pullout, also believing that man-made climate change is real and that we need to be proactive in this area.  CEOs of Dana, Dow Chemical, Pacific Gas and Electric, DuPont, Proctor and Gamble, General Electric, Cargill, Johnson&Johnson, CocaCola, Unilever and dozens of others.  I'm sorry you guys think it's a scam.  I'm just glad that there are some people with influence who don't feel that way.

Most larger corporations are run by Liberal/Progressives, and are the most PC organizations on earth.  The truth is that no one really knows if man's industrialization is causing any changes to a very, very dynamic thing like climate, and weather.  Also, the fact that historical temperature data was changed after the fact tells me that the entire thing IS a scam designed for more income, and wealth re-distribution by government.

Maybe those that believe in MMGW should alter their lifestyles to reflect their beliefs.

I'm sorry you guys who think it is real don't unplug and quit using energy in your lives.  With the number of people who believe in MMGW, if you all unplugged, per your own data you would make a huge impact quickly.  Put your money where your mouth is, lead by example.

Once it became obvious who was driving it and how they were going to profit, I knew that it is a scam. The "science", I immediately discarded.

When people were selling carbon credits, I knew it was a huge scam.

Elon Musk, huge hypocrite!

Quote
Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, took to Twitter to announce that he would be departing from all future presidential councils in protest of President Trump’s decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord. He assured his followers that global warming is real and that leaving the Paris accords is “not good” for America or the world.

Hours later, Cruz mocked Musk’s outrage, pointing out that he regularly travels around the country in his own private jet. If the billionaire CEO was so dedicated to reducing the world’s carbon output, Cruz snarked, he would choose to fly commercial planes rather than private ones.
