I'm a veteran, respect the chain of command, and yet, I vote nay. We know we can crush any armed uprising, they know we can crush any armed uprising, we haven't 'won' any great battle or fought any great foe, so what's the point of a parade of military equipment and armed forces personnel?
Patriotism is fine, and if the US wants to have a parade, I'm ok with that, but not with a military theme. Something I would expect from a nation which is itching for a fight somewhere. Not the kind of stuff I want the US to portray.

Also a NO, mainly based on the expense just to do such a thing.

We already do this...there are military sponsored airshows all over the country. Specifically the one at Andrews every year in May. While not comprehensive in hardware and capabilities, IMO it still qualifies to bear the name "Joint Services Open House".

We had open house day at every military installation I was assigned to. It was designed to foster friendship and good will among the local population. In all the open houses I attended, there was NEVER a parade of military equipment, or marching, or patriotic songs. It was much more a festival or carnival setting. In Okinawa, we had local food vendors, a carny midway, kiddie rides, etc. Just the opposite of showing off the might and power of the armed forces. We were cautioned not to be aggressive or confrontational. In TX we had a bbq, and a mini-rodeo event with some local rodeo hands. Except for a helicopter, and a couple of water buffalos, there was no equipment and no marching, and no formality at all, except the base cmdr and the adjutant were in dress greens.

I personally love a parade with the military putting their best foot forward.
It would be far better to incorporate military into local parades and events all over the country, and fuck the liberals who pretend they are triggered and 'unsafe.'

I agree on the airshow as being a great alternative.

For some reason I get visions of North Korea-style military "shows". That taints my image of the military parade.
I agree about the airshows, too. It allows large groups of our own citizens to join the fun and mingle, while at the same time being a good showing of how much we can kick anyone else's ass.

That was my exact thought.
I read an old quote in the paper today: "The French march well, we fight well". (But I'd substitute N.K. for the French).

Thee French also have a huge surplus of rifles from WW2. Never fired and dropped once.

As I recall, the Soviets were big on parades. In Oct and of course, May Day.
Ahem - the Soviets no longer exist.
DOH! ;)

The decline in respect for the military during the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations was marked and at times ugly.
Presenting the military in a fresh, exciting and attractive manner would be a good thing, especially after Obama used them for his personal bitch.
-
Nope, no need, our military exhibits its greatness in deeds, we don't need no stinkin' show. Besides, why give the moonbats the opportunity to make a scene at a parade?

Well, yeah but also no. I served in the 70s. It was at times -- unpleasant. ;D

I bet the whining asshole democrats wouldn't resist this idea if the military would just wear vaginas on their heads.

Lolz, you likely have no idea the simile you just stepped in. Google 'military cunt cap', and prepare to have a chuckle. ;)

There's nothing funny about the Obama homo-i-zation of the military.
But my point still stands.
Put a pussy hat on the marching soldiers and watch the mentally disturbed leftists start cheering.

The Democrats do back BLM marching and chanting, "What we want, Dead Cops, When do we want them, NOW"
