Title: Schools
Post by: EppyGA - White Christian Domestic Terrorist on July 14, 2020, 09:39:54 AM
I have several FB friends that are school teachers. I see them decrying Betsy DeVos and how she doesn't even offer a plan. They post about how they cannot possibly go back to school, think of the kids.

It pains me that they do not understand that local school districts should be making their own plans for returning. They also have no realization that kids from 0 - 18 are generally not at risk, one death here in Georgia in that age range.

These teachers talk about not wanting to go back in the classroom. I say, fine, quit and find yourself another job. No one forces these people to continue as teachers., they can always do something else.

The Federal Dept. of Education should not even EXIST.  Schools are largely paid for by local real estate and property taxes anyway.  It should be a local decision and policy.   They just hate Trump and this is another way to make stuff up about him.  Teachers are largely indoctrinated far left whiners and complainers.  Sorry, I call them as I see them.

Teachers are the ones at risk, not students.

However, I know nobody that believes online learning is effective.  So our choices are an ignorant generation or working out a system to protect teachers in a classroom.  I propose a line on the floor - students on one side, teacher on the other.  Add a teaching station with a glass barrier when  a student needs one on one help.  If a teacher uses a mask, they probably will need a microphone and speaker system to help amplify their voice.

If I can come up with this in 5 minutes, it's obvious they haven't even tried.

The Dept of Education is part of the welfare system, not really the education system.  Just look at their website - Student Loans, Grants, Laws (which are mostly about how to give away money) and data / reporting.

You're right, there's no real reason for them to exist except to exert control over schools in the form of giving money.

Sounds like teachers unions.

Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) announced yesterday that they were going to start the school year by remote learning, and take it on a month to month basis. I guarantee MPS won’t be back in school for the rest of 2020.

You should ask your friends at which grade level will these students be when they DO return to the classroom?  Objectively they will have missed most of a school year. Will these students have to re-take their last grade, or will they be advanced, wholly unprepared for the next grade.

Betsy DeVos is asking these questions. Why aren’t your friends asking about the welfare of the kids?

(Rhetorical questions of course.)

My youngest two grand sons finished the year on line or as my son called it, forced home schooling. BTW, he's a liberal Sanders backer.  They were given assignments to turn in. No lecture that I know of. How does one learn without having the concepts taught to them? Isn't that what we pay teachers for?

I believe that an ignorant generation is the goal.  Nothing more compliant than someone who doesn't know any better.  If you want an educated workforce, just import it.  Otherwise the goal is a generation of useful democrat-voting idiots.

It's amazing that people were able to have school year after year with the flu ravaging the population.

Let's look at what is going on here.

This is more of the radical leftist pushing chaos and confusion.  By keeping schools closed, this prevents some parents from going to work, which in turn keeps unemployment up.  It also gives the leftist more ammunition to try to force more "$600/week" universal income stream to continue through the election.

The democrats/leftist/progressive/Marxist don't give a shit about these kids or their families.  They are merely pawns being used for an agenda.

The only necessary task for the state, or federal DOE is granting funds for development of curriculum and everything else is a figment of the democrats need to expand government and control what people are allowed to learn.

If the President closed the Doe it would be decades before anyone other than parasites and leftists (I repeat myself) would be adversely affected, if then.

All true.  Teachers actually taught when I went to school.  The caliber of teachers has gone way down too.
