I believe he got wind of an impending campaign to smear him and he bailed. Since this is the new and proven tool of the progressives, as well as the establishment we will be seeing lots of this in 2018 and 2020.
And Ohio is an important seat for the D's to hold. Whoa be it to whoever runs as an R.

I should clarify my response, I don't believe Mr. Mandel has done anything wrong, in fact he looks to be the ideal candidate.
But we've opened ourselves up to the smear campaigns of the progressives by not fighting back. And if a candidate is innocent, just by virtue of being accused makes him/her guilty in the MSM.
The consequences of letting the progressives get away with sex smear campaigns will be a huge problem come 2018 and 2020. And let's not forget, it's not only the progressives, but the establishment types like McConnell are not beneath engaging in the same smear.
We have really opened a pandora's box with this.

Think about it, if he is squeaky clean and he gets wind that he's gonna be dragged through the mud with multiple sex smears and allegations, would anyone want to endure that, and put their family through it?
The progressives know this, so when they see a potential competitor that may take one of their seats they just drop the word "proceed at your own peril".
The republicans have really opened a pandora's box by not fighting back.

John Edwards should have done that to be with his wife who was dying of cancer. She was terminal, so instead he had an affair with some bimbo, and fathered a child out of wedlock. Political career, and reputation OVER. He was an idiot.

John Edwards was a sleaze bag way way before any of that. It just finally caught up with him. And of course he was too arrogant to think he would be exposed.
