I didn't watch it. I just can't take the idiocy, but I've read that Marianne Williamson was a stand out. Anybody watch, or have a perspective on who may have gained ground?
I still think Biden is the candidate to beat, and supposedly the Long Knives are coming out for him tonight. I do think he is to old, and fragile to be President, but I also think the DNC views him as TOO moderate, and an old school "70's style" Democrat. He has said he is the most "Progressive" candidate running for President, and is trying to be more Commie like the rest, but I think he's failing.

The thing that made me turn it off was when Bernie was blasting the overhead caused my insurance company billing procedures, and said that a single payer, government run health care system would have much less bureaucracy. I almost choked on that one. And his followers believe that.

Bejesus. Government doesn't run anything efficiently or well as they have no incentive to contain costs, and no market competition to keep them providing good service. Think DMV, etc. How people that call themselves "intellectuals" and intelligent don't see that is beyond me.
There must be a large population of useful idiots that vote for these clowns. Either they are brain washed Utopians, nor just plain idiots, or BOTH.

Wow, this is more than just an obsession with Racism, it is an absolute mentally ill, Psychotic obsession with racism. What is wrong with these people? Do you think that resonates with most Americans, or does it look insane as it does to me?
This is scary. If people are this nuts, I need to step up my reloading activities.

That’s already a problem with healthcare costs because when the government changed tax law so employers now provide coverage, it removed the direct relationship between buyer and seller (doctor and patient). It created a false price curve. Patients really do believe a trip to the doctor should be $40 instead of the $200 it needs to be for doctors to recover the cost of their education, their staff, facilities etc.
If patients had to bear the true cost these things would happen: 1. They would self ration, and not go running to the doctor for every sniffle and 2. Doctors would find ways to lower prices and start competing with each other for patients. 3. The really bad doctors might still just charge $40 but some care is better than no care. The true market would equalize at the true price.
Even better remove the effect Medicare has on the market. Artificially low reimbursements to doctors has them upping prices for the rest of us, and insurance companies failing to agree to the true cost has them inflating prices even more.
And most of all remove regulations from health insurance. Let people buy the coverage they want and no more, and let them go across state lines.
Government interference created this mess we have, and now the left wants to “fix” the problem THEY created by nationalizing the whole damn thing. This would sever the last thread between doctor and patient as an economic transaction and thereby cause massive shortages of doctors, and increases in wait times as everyone now clambers all over each other to get their “free” care.

I still have to watch the last hour, but I nearly went crazy listening to all of them saying how they were going to implement universal health care (whether MFA or BetterCare (TM) or something else) but no one ever asked them, and they didn't volunteer, how they were going to pay for it. No one said they would increase taxes on the middle class, some said the NET cost of health care to middle class folks would go down (meaning taxes go up, cost of care itself - purportedly - goes down), but no one brought up the fact that Medicare as it exists today is forecast to become insolvent by 2026. The big disagreement was over whether to remove the private option, but the elephant in the room was never once mentioned. I read that Sanders and Warren, at least, believe in MMT so maybe that explains it... and in that case, heaven help us if either of them gets elected.

So the progressive playbook says they must break these voters away from supporting Trump, and the best way is to smear, through the help of the MSM, and malign the President as a "racist".

Yesterday Sean Hannity had C.L. Bryant on his radio show and he predicted there will be a shocking change in black vote in 2020, he said he thinks Trump will get 20% of the black vote. That would be historic and will seal Trump's win. He says blacks are waking up. I sure hope he's right.

I just tested it also, and now I can, but I could not yesterday, nor previously. Weird.

A lot can happen in the months that lead up to an election. I don't really put much stock into talking heads when they predict these things. I think a lot of it is them trying to sway the listeners. I've had several people tell me over the years that they would be voting for such and such a candidate because that's who the polls say will win, and they don't want to waste their vote on the loser. (So much for voting who you think is the better candidate.)

I went to pay my property tax bill today at the County building. Had to remove watch, belt, wallet, phone, etc. to walk through a metal detector for the privilege of paying their salaries. And this is in the most Republican county in Wisconsin.

There is a dropbox for paying taxes and other fees outside our Courthouse. Otherwise I’d have to do what you did. Full body screen, and no water bottles allowed.

I pay mine, on-line, quarterly. It costs $1.50 each time, but it is worth it. I get more than that back in rewards points on my cc.

I got caught with a pocket knife last time I went to the country courthouse. The guy kept it for me and I had to remind him to give it back on my way out. They ignored my empty handgun holster, at least I had the presence of mind to leave the gun in the car.

My courthouse has lockers where you can store your gun prior to going through security. You retrieve it on the way out. The County Sheriffs always give me dirty looks when I am doing it as they only think Law Enforcement should have the right to carry a gun. I purposely bring it when I go to the courthouse now.

I recently visited an National Park Service office to pick up a trail map and had the same experience. You'd think they would put that stuff outside of security. I think in the future I'll skip the maps and just go for it.
BTW... The ranger station by the trail closed during the Obama administration.

When the recipient is accessible locally, I take very large checks in person. I don’t trust the mail generally. I suppose one day checks will go away entirely, though. We have still managed to do fine without getting debit cards but that will probably not last either.

That brings up a good point. If you use your bank’s bill pay system, and a payee does not have electronic transfer, and your bank mails a physical check, are covered if it gets intercepted? I’m saying yes, if a fraudster cashes it and takes your cash you aren’t liable. I could be wrong.

I don't trust the incompetent, patronage bureaucrats in government, or the Post Office. I personally take my Property/Real Estate Tax payment (which is way too large, btw) to the courthouse, store my pistol in their locker, making sure the King's servants (Sheriffs) see me doing so. I usually take a larger one than I normally carry just to piss them off even more.
