Title: Microsoft using A.I. to make your writing more Politically Correct and Inclusive
Post by: Anthony on May 11, 2019, 05:12:21 AM
My question is will you be able to turn the function off?  I don't want software doing my writing for me, and especially not shaping the politics in my writing.  These Tech companies are all Far Left Fascist (Democrat).  They are out of control.

Quote
This fall, Microsoft will be launching a tool that will help make your writing more politically correct.
For example, if you write the word ‘policeman’ it will suggest ‘police officer.’
Or if you write 'disabled person' it will suggest 'person with a disability.'
The tool is designed to help people use more inclusive language in their writing.
And it doesn't stop there.

It will also give users a helping hand with grammar, vocabulary, and punctuation.
Users will see a tab in the Microsoft Word toolbar called 'ideas.'
That's where its artificial intelligence systems will suggest the improvements.

The only thing new here are the PC rules. Software has been recommending grammar, punctuation, and spelling issues for years. I imagine the suggestions will be underlined like they are now.

The current grammar and spelling correction drive me insane. I can’t deal with this new world of AI. Kill me now.

I hope so, but sometimes you don't catch the corrections.  I also hope there is a way to disable the function.  Can you imagine if a large company like Microsoft did the same thing, but leaning towards "Conservative" speech and thought?  There would be major Media, and Democrat outrage across the board.

So far, as far as I know, you can turn it off or customize it. In Word I usually customize to remove the grammar corrections. And the caps correction. And sometimes the whole thing.

There is censorship in word games. Cuss words for example aren’t recognized in my “Scrabble”. Pisses me off. It allows “feces” but not “shit”. ::)

You certainly can't turn off the left wing bias of Google, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Apple, and other Tech, and Social Media outlets.
