Title: Turkey Threatening to Invade Greece
Post by: nddons on September 08, 2022, 09:25:19 AM
In yet another stunning diplomatic victory of the Biden administration, we now have one member of NATO threatening to invade another member of NATO.

For fuck’s sake.

Methinks we should reevaluate what a membership in NATO is supposed to mean.

The battle is already being waged virtually.  This is a multiplayer game where you color in pixels.  I’ve been playing on team Styx which is centered in Africa with the red yellow squares.  We had to respond to the Nazis and attack their big black swastika after they wandered in to our territory.  Our battle cry is “clank!” which refers to the clank of your spoon in your coffee cup or mug.  Hence all the pictures of spoons.

Note that California has fallen off into the ocean.

There are bots which are hard to fight.  The big N word in Africa is something we have tried to erase but some bot persistently rebuilds it.

There is a cooldown after you reach one minute of 7 seconds for covering a pixel and 4 seconds for fresh canvas. This changes to 14 seconds and 2 seconds respectively after a void fight depending on if the void is defeated or not.  Void appear randomly but I’ve never seen one yet.  Supposedly usually in Antarctica or near the North Pole.

We are helping our Greek allies hold back the Turkish invasion, Greek in blue and the Turks in red.

P.S. Right now there are server issues with over 2000 people playing.  It starts getting laggy around 1300.  You have to regularly complete a captcha check and that seems to fail too with too many players online.

P.P.S. Well now it’s a minute and a half and 15 seconds so I don’t know what’s going on.

The democrat communist are working to provoke another world war.  It's their belief if this happens it will usher in "a new world order" which puts them at the top and will allow them to "Build Back Better" a leftist utopia.

What's so alarming are the republicans and fake conservatives that aren't lifting a finger to stop this, and in many ways helping them.

I literally have no idea what you are talking about. Are you saying the article I referenced was fiction?

No, not your article.  I am referring to an online game where there is a fake world canvas and people can go on there and claim territory by papering it over with your colors, or just create art.  I don’t think it is coincidental that there is now a virtual fake war being waged there between Turkey and Greece in light of your real life article although it is unknown how many of the Turkey aggressors are actual Turks, just as many of the Greece defenders aren’t actually Greek, but people from all over the planet play there as you can see from all the Cyrillic script.  I understand China has blocked it because it “is a waste of people’s time” so you don’t see a lot of Chinese. It has also been banned from certain platforms no doubt because of all the pro-Trump, anti-globalist stuff on there.  Nevermind the smut and racism, although some of the racist stuff might be planted provocation from the left.  You’ll probably get on an FBI watch list if you look at it but it’s just good clean fun.

No kidding. Interesting. And how is Styx involved in it. Is he just a player too, or is he in charge or something.

I’m guessing it’s a 21st century version of Stratego?  I used to play that as a kid.

Styx is just a player and not formally in charge but because he has a large YouTube and rumble following he can act as a defacto leader in that he can suggest everyone do this or that which then brings the advantage of large numbers.  The only other way I know of to communicate with other players is in the chat which I don’t participate in.  You have to create an account to do that and I ain’t creating an account.

I have no idea what Stratego is.  I probably missed something good.  I also missed out on Dungeons and Dragons.  I was invited to play but somebody told me it was a game for Satan worshippers or something so being a naive cowardly little girl I didn’t.

Stratego is a board game that has been around since 1946.

I used to play Stratego as a kid. Fun board game. Oh yeah and Battleship too.  The TV ads in the 60s for both those games were great.

Okay, it’s possible I came across it as a kid, didn’t play enough to remember though.

Risk

Conflict (Parker Brothers)

We had both and combined them with our own made-up game board.

No wonder conservatives are so violent and such a THREAT TO DEMOCRACY!!!! They were trained as children!!!!

My brother and I turned a little shed into a submarine. We sat on the roof and fired torpedoes at Nazi ships. We had anti-aircraft guns for the planes, too. I still remember the little round circles we made with chalk … Torpedoes 1, 2, 3 and 4. We took prisoners and locked them in the little shed with a padlock.

To make matters worse, my brother insisted on being the captain. I was always the first mate and never got promoted.  >:(  Because I was a GIRL.

Was he older than you?  I was the eldest of five and in my childhood I wished for an older brother.  I was envious of my friends who had big brothers.  When I was in my early 30s, Dad told us that we had an older half brother given up for adoption, and the kid, now in his late 30s, had just made contact with him and would we like to meet him?  Hell yes!!  I missed growing up with him (I had to be the a-hole that bossed around the siblings) but my wish finally came true.

What a great story! Yes, my brother is older and still bossy and critical of me.

Well maybe it worked out for the best for me not growing up with mine because the bossy critical dynamic is absent.  I guess that comes from the inevitable power imbalance in childhood when one is older and larger than the other.  That template is kind of set for life.  I don’t think I’m bossy and critical of my younger siblings but I definitely have a subconscious conviction that anything I think I know is probably “more correct” than whatever they think, unless they can prove otherwise.  That sounds terrible but it’s just an involuntary vestige of what was actually true in childhood.  When it becomes clear they know what they’re talking about I’ll yield.  But that’s not quite the same as being bossy and critical.  I try not to criticize how they live their lives other than my youngest sibling is a leftist, really the only thing about any of them I can’t abide.
