Well this fall the NFL will play the black national anthem before every week 1 game.
Four weeks after commissioner Roger Goodell vowed to listen to and work with players in their fight for racial equality, the NFL is in the process of solidifying plans to honor victims of systemic racism with a number of in-game programs during opening week of the 2020 season.
Starting with the nationally televised regular-season opener between the Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 10, “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” also known as the Black national anthem, will be performed before every Week 1 kickoff, before “The Star-Spangled Banner,” according to a person familiar with ongoing discussions. The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because plans have not yet been finalized and announced by NFL officials.

I told a friend of mine that I was not watching the NFL nor NCAA football any longer due to the injection of politics now supported by the NFL league and owners and Universities and college coaches. She was a bit surprised although knows I never sat in front of the TV to watch all weekend anyway. I'd pick a game or two and that's it. NO MORE.
This is what universities do to coaches that dare even show a small lick of evidence they are conservative leaning. It cost him over $1 million dollars to keep his job.

Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard, a Heisman Trophy award candidate, threatened to sit out of all team activities after seeing the photo of his head coach on Monday.
"I will not stand for this.. This is completely insensitive to everything going on in society, and it’s unacceptable,” Hubbard wrote on Twitter. “I will not be doing anything with Oklahoma State until things CHANGE.”

I don't get it. Are we that far removed from reality anymore? Like you I played sports growing up and in school, high school, and college. Some of the coaches were physically, verbally and mentally abusive. I mean BAD. That's just the way things were back then and how they motivated. Not saying it was right, but nobody complained, especially not to our parents nor the media. We wanted to play, that's all.

College wasn’t nearly as bad as high school. We had to push that fucking 7-man blocking sled for miles. One coach was so pissed off he threw his metal clipboard at one of the guards, and gashed his shin. He told the trainer to take him to get stitches and get back on the practice field. He was also the wrestling coach and was a little bit of a hothead.

But at least he didn’t wear an AON t-shirt or I would have been really hurt and sad.
