They have promised much before, so I take this with a grain (or ton) of salt. But do you think N. K. would be even talking about the possibility of denuclearization if Obama were still President?
The left hammered Trump for his tough, unyielding, threatening statements. But sometimes, that is the only way important things get done. Just like our trade imbalance will only be resolved if we demand it and people believe that we are willing to follow through on our threats if they don't come around.

The Norks will never in a billion years allow US state dept in to validate anything, specifically nuclear weapons controls. I seriously doubt they would let the south Koreans in either, but maybe a very limited guided and restricted 'tour' which is useless. The Norks will use this weakness as a means to some financial gains, without any capitulation in their actual nuke weapons processes. All smoke and mirrors. Don't fall for it.

I don't think Trump would enter into such an agreement unless there was some sort of guarantee that we would get something out of it.

Nork has nothing we want or need. The only non-material thing is we want them to stop making nukes. Which is pie in the sky thinking. They want access to markets, financial assistance, credit, fresh food, jets, TVs, coal - hell, they want/need everything.

I think I agree with this. I don’t think Trump will give up anything to secure a worthless promise, but the next testicle-free president that acts the way Obama acted with Iran will capitulate for a promise and make this world a more dangerous place.

Lil Kim is broke, he's squandered away most of his money chasing these military and world domination dreams.
He doesn't have the support of Russia and China like he once did. He's making this latest move to foreign aid in money and food, as well as other materials.
It's now time to wait him out. Each day goes by the supply sheds get less and less, and with no money rogue nations won't give him credit or sell to him. Hungry people, including the military will eventually figure a way to end the hunger, especially knowing that on their three borders there is plenty of food.
Lil Kim knows his days are numbered if he doesn't do something.
