Title: Sen. Ted Cruz Fires Communications Director
Post by: acrogimp on February 22, 2016, 05:13:31 PM
So, once again Cruz campaign gets called out for jumping the gun/running with a false narrative and this time Ted fired his Communications Director.

At base is a story that even on the face just smacks of outright BS, supposedly Marco Rubio, in front of Cruz's father no less, insulted the bible.  Marco being a well-known Catholic who has spoken often about his faith.

Cruz's dad didn't come out and object to the bogus line, it was only when Rubio called them out on the bogus storyline - which ran for a day or two.

The running line from Rubio and Trump now is of course that there is a culture within the Cruz camapign, with the 'Voter Violation' mailers in several states, the Ben Carson 'quitting' story in Iowa, etc.

Curious for those who support Cruz or Rubio if this means anything to you?

I'm sure Mr. Cruz knew nothing about it and had no role.  ;)

Republicans have a long history of hiring complete fucking idiots to run their campaigns.

That's not to say the candidates aren't responsible for what people do or say on their behalf. They are.

That being said, there are too many instances of crap coming out of the Cruz tent. I'm not happy about it.

I wonder if he first learned about it from CNN? (That excuse seems to work for others).

Cruz is desperate. His "win" in Iowa was a barely scrap by and only because he stabbed Carson in the back. After every primary he runs out on stage and talks about his "victory".

Right now Nevada doesn't look good for him, and Super Tuesday is looking bad for him as well.  He even went as far as trying to talk Carson into dropping out so he could pick up his evangelical votes.

Cruz is relying on two demographics: evangelical and far right conservatives. In New Hampshire and South Carolina he couldn't get 50% of the evangelicals to vote for him. In fact in South Carolina he didn't win any counties. And SC was suppose to be a windfall for him.

My take is people are taking notice of his campaign dirty tricks and his desperation shows. Voters typically won't vote for desperation.

Those who hate Cruz will make much of this.
The Rubio campaign will play with it, just like Ben Carson did a couple of weeks ago, when the truth wasn't exactly what was said.
The hard line left, and the establishment wing of the republican party, are desperate to take out Cruz because he is a danger to them getting their way. Those folks are far more comfortable with a John Boehner / Mitch McConnell type RINO, such as Mitt Romney, and John McCain, than one who would rock their power boat.

I've made reference before but it bears repeating, this is a truly like watching The Campaign in real life.  Still waiting for someone to punch a dog to go up in the polls. It's bound to happen.

Campaigns make mistakes, people get fired and the campaigns move on. What surprises me is the tactic that the Cruz campaign is using. Instead of going after Rubio for his comments on Univsion (Cruz was right about what Rubio said), he's having ads like this go out. I agree that Cruz is starting to get desperate to win and it's not looking good for him. I think his positive message worked better for him than his negative ads.

Exactly. If he could have kept a positive image he would be further ahead, but voters are and continue to grow sceptical of a candidate that uses fraudulent campaign practices. Cruz and his team didn't count on social media being able to out them so quickly.

Link Trumpkins wearing their Trump gear while acting as poll workers in Nevada?

Link Trumpkins wearing their Trump gear while acting as poll workers in Nevada?

The Nevada Republican Committee was asked about this and they responded that it wasn't a problem. If the Republicans in Nevada saw that as an issue they could have dismissed the volunteers.

Saw Cruz's new Comms' Director on FOX this morning, she was a little overwhelmed I think and repetitive but so long as she doesn't fall for every tasty viral video and continue issuing the bogus voter violation stuff she may be a good change for Cruz' campaign I think.
