Icon is getting a rep as a widowmaker.
RIP Halladay. He was a great pitcher.

Bad news for Icon. I predict their absence at Oshkosh next year while they do a stand down and reevaluation of their aircraft. If I recall, one of the three fatale was one of their test pilots.

As a casual Phillies fan, this was very disturbing news. He was known as a really good guy also, down to Earth, and helped a lot with kids in his community. Really sad. The UNCONFIRMED rumors are he was doing low level aerobatics over the water.

"What the fuck, dude...."
Looks like base to final to me.

I see a 60deg bank angle and serious decent angle at less than 200' alt. Not a good plan for a low time pilot, in a low performance aircraft.

He had to be pretty low time also, as he got his ticket in 2016 so hadn't been flying long at all.

He had 800 hours, multi and instrument.

Guessing he had seaplane too. None of it helped make good decisions.
